Wisconsin's Kingston Allen Is Making This Recruitment Much More Tense

Rising star Kingston Allen's record-shattering performance raises eyebrows and questions about his future with the Wisconsin Badgers.

Wisconsin running backs coach Jayden Everett got a front-row seat to another wild Kingston Allen show, and the Badgers commitment did not waste the opportunity.

Allen put together what Everett called his most insane night yet, with the coach even firing off the “crown watch” emojis while watching in person. That’s saying something for a back who seems to post video game numbers every week.

Allen was already the touchdown leader in Wisconsin high school state history after his last game, when he moved past 107 on his career and 48 on the season. Then he went out and somehow topped it. He added six more touchdowns, and he also rushed for at least 160 yards on his touchdowns alone, with full stats to be released later.

The start was as fast as it gets: Allen scored on his first two carries. He also helped lead his team to a 10-0 record. The yardage in the game pushed him past his school record, and he is now the leading rusher in Notre Dame Academy history.

Last week, Allen had five touchdowns and 259 yards. This time, he raised the bar again against Germantown, a team that features 4-star Cole Reiter, a future teammate for Allen if things hold with Wisconsin. For now, though, the bigger concern for Everett, Luke Fickell and the Badgers is keeping Allen in the fold while other programs keep pushing.

Allen is drawing serious attention, and Ohio State has emerged as the main threat. He took a game-day visit there last week, and while he was on campus the Buckeyes offered him, hoping to pull him away from Wisconsin.

Allen is still committed to the Badgers, and he told Badger Connect earlier that he remains 100% committed. But with other programs still circling, Everett’s presence and his public support make clear just how much Wisconsin wants to keep its prized in-state back home.

Wisconsin Just Added A New Backcourt Question Before The Season

Braeden Carringtons path into his final college season took another turn just before the opener, when a California judge issued an injunction in the Glancey v. NCAA case that granted him a fifth year of eligibility. The ruling applies to 76 seniors across the country and lets them suit up for the upcoming season while the NCAA moves ahead with an appeal, keeping a lot of roster plans in motion right as teams are trying to settle on roles.

For Wisconsin, the timing matters because Carrington is expected to be part of a crowded backcourt that will have to sort out minutes early. The senior guard averaged 8.3 points and 2.4 rebounds last season, and his return adds another experienced option to a group that already figures to have plenty of competition for playing time. Wisconsins USC Upset Bid Comes Down To One Frustrating Fix

Wisconsin heads into a home matchup with No. 16 USC needing more than just a spirited effort to pull off the upset. The Badgers have spent too much time in recent weeks making things harder on themselves, whether it has been third-down stalls, uneven play up front, or not getting enough from the running game to keep drives moving and pressure off the quarterback.

Austin Kaweckis potential return at center could help settle an offensive line that has been part of the problem, and Wisconsin will need Colton Joseph to protect the ball against a USC offense that can punish mistakes quickly. For the Badgers, the formula is clear enough: stay on the field, run the ball with more purpose and avoid the kind of turnovers that turn a competitive night into a chase. [Read more 🡒]

Wisconsins USC Upset Bid Rests On 4 Badgers Delivering

Wisconsin heads into its matchup with USC knowing the path to an upset runs through a very specific set of performances. The Badgers have struggled to get much going offensively, which makes it even more important for a few key players to tilt the game in their favor. Colton Joseph, Jaylon Domingeaux, Marvin Burks Jr. and Mason Posa all loom large in that equation, because Wisconsin is going to need contributions in multiple phases just to keep pace.

The challenge only gets tougher on the other side, where Jayden Maiva gives USC a quarterback with real passing strength and a defense Wisconsin will have to solve. If the Badgers are going to make this interesting, they need those four players to deliver in a way that changes the feel of the game rather than just filling out the stat sheet. For a Wisconsin team trying to find answers on offense and stay sturdy on defense, the margin for error is thin. [Read more 🡒]
