Wisconsin’s hold on Kingston Allen just got harder to keep.
For Badger fans, the name has been familiar for a while now. Allen, the 2027 tentative commit, has been piling up eye-popping production and rewriting the record book almost every time he takes the field. But while he remains tied to Wisconsin, the recruiting picture around him has changed fast over the past few weeks.
The latest jolt came with offers from Ohio State and, most recently, Alabama. Those are the kind of schools that turn a normal recruiting situation into a real battle.
Allen is still committed to Madison, and he even visited Wisconsin for its most recent home game against USC. Still, the fact that he’s drawing that kind of attention makes this much more complicated than it looked a month ago.
On October 30, 2026, Allen posted on X: "Very thankful to receive an offer from The University of Alabama. I’m grateful for every opportunity and everyone who has supported my journey. pic.twitter.com/NsaOgQuK47"
For now, there’s no sign that he’s done anything beyond accepting the offers. But just seeing those programs enter the mix is enough to make Wisconsin’s grip feel a little less secure.
That doesn’t make Allen’s stance any less understandable. When the biggest brands in the sport come calling, it’s hard not to listen.
The reason schools are pushing so hard is obvious. Allen has put up 2,797 yards and 54 touchdowns in just 10 games, putting him on track to top last season’s 3,436 yards and 57 touchdowns. He’s also moved well past Christian Collins ‘25 in school history, passing him for career rushing yards on October 24, 2026.
Allen looks the part of a true workhorse back. He has the frame to handle a heavy load and the speed to take a run the distance. He can win between the tackles or bounce it outside, and he’s shown enough in the passing game to hint at more versatility, even if most of his work still comes on handoffs.
That kind of profile is going to draw the heavy hitters. And for Wisconsin, which is still building toward more consistency on the field, it also means Allen has every reason to hear from programs with more established track records.
Money figures to be part of the equation too, and there’s no doubt Alabama or Ohio State can offer more than Wisconsin can. That doesn’t change the current reality, though: Allen is still committed to the Badgers, and Luke Fickell remains active in the pursuit.

Wisconsin Gets A Huge Opening In Iowa Rivalry But One Problem Remains
Wisconsin gets a timely chance to reset a rivalry that has gone the wrong way for four straight meetings when it heads to Iowa this weekend. Both teams enter at 5-2, and the matchup looks every bit like the kind of defensive grind these programs tend to produce. The Badgers, built around one of the nations best run defenses, will try to use that strength to finally flip the recent trend.
Iowa, even after losing a key running back for the season, is still viewed as a slight favorite, which says plenty about the respect it carries at home and on defense. For Wisconsin, the opening is real, but so is the challenge: this is still a game likely to be decided by field position, toughness and which side can create just enough offense in a matchup where points may be hard to find. Wisconsin's O-Line Problem Just Got Worse Before Iowa
Wisconsins offensive line has already been a moving target this season, and the latest injury report only adds to the uncertainty heading into Iowa. The Badgers have used five different starting lineups in seven games, a sign of how often the front has been shuffled as the staff searches for the right combination and the right level of stability.
Barrett Nelson, a fifth-year senior who started at right guard in Week 8, is listed as doubtful along with running back Nate Palmer, leaving Wisconsin to sort through more lineup options if Nelson cannot go. Among the possibilities are bringing PJ Wilkins back into the mix or shifting backup center Ryan Cory into a different role, another reminder that the Badgers may be forced to improvise again up front at a difficult time. Badgers Suddenly Have A Key Iowa Week Concern Up Front
Wisconsins Week 9 availability report brought a fresh layer of uncertainty to a matchup that already had plenty riding on the line up front. The Badgers listed running backs Darrion Dupree and Nate Palmer, along with right guard Barrett Nelson, among the players whose status is still up in the air, while Iowas report showed its own issues, including the season-ending loss of starting running back Kamari Moulton and several other players tagged as doubtful.
For Wisconsin, the concern is as much about depth and lineup continuity as it is about any one name on the sheet. Recent playing time and injury updates suggest both teams are juggling personnel at important spots, but the Badgers attention will be on whether they can get enough stability in the backfield and along the line before facing an Iowa defense that is dealing with its own availability questions.
