Wisconsin Lands Tennessee Receiver After Last-Minute Flip From Another School

Wisconsin football adds another key piece to its 2026 class with a talented Tennessee receiver flipping his commitment from an SEC program.

Wisconsin Lands 2026 WR Keeyshawn Tabuteau in a Timely Flip from the SEC

The Wisconsin Badgers just added some serious speed and playmaking to their 2026 recruiting class - and they did it by flipping a former SEC commit.

Keeyshawn Tabuteau, a 6-foot, 180-pound wide receiver out of McCallie School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, announced his commitment to Wisconsin on December 1. The three-star prospect had previously pledged to Vanderbilt back in June, but now he’s heading north to Madison, bringing a dynamic presence to the Badgers’ future offense.

This move comes at a pivotal time for Wisconsin. Just a week ago, they lost receiver Jayden Pettit - another Florida product - who decommitted from the Badgers and committed to Oklahoma the very next day. Tabuteau’s commitment helps fill that void and keeps Wisconsin’s momentum rolling on the recruiting trail.

With Tabuteau on board, Wisconsin’s 2026 class now sits at 15 commits and includes a second wide receiver in Zion Legree, another Florida native. That’s two promising pass-catchers with high ceilings - and it’s clear the Badgers are making a concerted effort to build out their future aerial attack.

Tabuteau’s production this season speaks for itself. According to MaxPreps, he hauled in 56 receptions for 1,231 yards and 16 touchdowns, averaging nearly 95 yards per game and a staggering 22 yards per catch. That kind of explosiveness doesn’t just show up in the box score - it stretches defenses, opens up the playbook, and gives quarterbacks a real weapon on the outside.

Recruiting services are aligned in their assessment of Tabuteau’s potential. He’s rated as a three-star by Rivals, 247Sports, and ESPN, which also ranks him as the No. 68 receiver in the 2026 class. That puts him squarely in the conversation as one of the more intriguing wideouts in the cycle - especially for a team like Wisconsin that’s looking to evolve its offensive identity under new leadership.

Tabuteau’s commitment also marks the third straight day Wisconsin has landed a 2026 pledge - though not all of them have stuck. On Saturday, former Grand Valley State defensive lineman Jibriel Conde committed to the Badgers, only to flip to Kansas a day later. Sunday brought a commitment from Taylor Schaefer, a Southern Door High School alum who most recently played at Iowa Central Community College.

Still, the addition of Tabuteau is a win - not just because of his talent, but because of what it signals. Wisconsin is actively competing for SEC-level recruits and winning some of those battles. That’s not something you could always say in years past.

If Tabuteau’s high school production is any indication, the Badgers just landed a playmaker who can stretch the field, beat man coverage, and turn short throws into big gains. And with two years of high school ball still ahead of him, there’s plenty of room for his game to grow.

For now, Wisconsin fans can celebrate a big-time flip - and a strong step forward for the 2026 class.
