Wisconsin’s 2027 recruiting class took a hit when three-star edge rusher Darin Graham backed off his pledge to the Badgers.
Graham announced the change on his 'X' account, thanking the Wisconsin staff while making it clear he is back on the market.
“I would like to thank the University of Wisconsin and the football staff for the opportunity. At this time, I have decided to de commit from Wisconsin . My recruitment is now reopen. #agtg @Jordanlynch06 @Chitownrichie92 @michaelsobrien @mikeclarkpreps @LemmingReport @EDGYTIM”
Graham had committed to Wisconsin during his official visit in June, part of the staff’s big early push during the first two weeks of official visit season. He picked the Badgers over a group of Power 4 programs that included Ole Miss, Iowa State, Kentucky, Minnesota, and Georgia Tech.
His exit leaves Wisconsin with 22 commitments in the 2027 class. It also trims a position group that had already looked strong, with Isaac Miller and Brody Pfannenstiel still in the fold at edge.
The Badgers also have some future help coming in that area. Jalanie George, a four-star edge rusher in the 2028 class, recently committed as well.
Even with Graham out of the class, Wisconsin may not rush to replace him. The edge room already features Nicolas Clayton, Jaylen Williams, Jayden Loftin, and Yahya Gaad, and more reinforcements are expected over the next couple of recruiting cycles.
If the staff does decide to make another move, a late-cycle flip could be the path. Otherwise, the portal remains another way to patch any gaps.
A decommitment is never ideal, but the hit is not as severe as it once was.

Wisconsins Guard Room Just Took An Early Hit Fans Didnt Want
Wisconsins backcourt depth took a frustrating early hit with freshman guard Josh Manchester sidelined after suffering a shoulder injury in practice. Manchester underwent successful surgery and will miss the entire 2026-27 basketball season, ending his year before it ever had a chance to begin.
Manchester was a late addition to the Badgers roster and was not expected to play major minutes this season, but the injury still trims Wisconsins active player count to 13 heading into the fall. For a team that likes to keep options open in the guard rotation, losing even a developmental piece this early is an unwelcome setback. [Read more 🡒]
Wisconsins Starting Five Has One Spot Fans Will Be Watching Closely
Wisconsins projected starting five is mostly settled as the season approaches, but the backcourt still has one spot drawing plenty of attention. Owen Foxwell, Nolan Winter, Austin Rapp and Eian Elmer appear positioned to anchor the group, leaving the two-guard opening as the key decision for the Badgers to monitor.
Braeden Carrington is currently considered eligible while working through legal proceedings, with his court case postponed to Oct. 20, and that keeps him in the mix alongside Trey Autry. Victory Onuetu and Jackson Ball are also names to remember if the rotation shifts once games begin, giving Wisconsin a little more flexibility there than the rest of the lineup. [Read more 🡒]
Wisconsin Just Played Its Way Into A Bigger Bowl Conversation
Wisconsin has quietly put itself back into the postseason picture with a 4-1 start and a 2-0 mark in Big Ten play, and the opening month has already changed the tone around Luke Fickells team. The only blemish came against Notre Dame, which means the Badgers have otherwise handled business enough to make bowl projections feel a lot less like speculation and a lot more like scoreboard watching.
What makes the next stretch so interesting is how much those upcoming key matchups could shift the conversation. Wisconsin is not in the College Football Playoff mix, but the path back to bowl season looks real after missing the postseason the past two years, and different analysts have the Badgers slotted for a range of destinations depending on how the rest of the schedule plays out.
