Wisconsin’s 2028 class is on the board, and the Badgers landed a big one to open it up.
Four-star Florida linebacker Cale Britt announced his commitment to Wisconsin this week, giving Luke Fickell and his staff an early head start in the cycle. Britt, who is from Orlando, Florida, has been one of the most sought-after linebackers in the country, piling up 35 offers along the way.
That list included heavy hitters like Michigan, Alabama, Florida, Miami, Tennessee, Penn State, and Notre Dame, among others. His recruitment really accelerated this summer as the offers kept coming, but Wisconsin had been building toward this for a while.
The Badgers offered Britt back in April and stayed connected throughout the process. That early relationship mattered, especially since Wisconsin was only Britt’s third offer overall, following Kansas State and Kansas. He was back on campus earlier this summer, and now the trip ends with a commitment in hand.
For Wisconsin, the timing matters too. The program already has Mason Posa and Cooper Catalano at linebacker, and it added three-star Keaton Wollan and three-star Nathan Jones in the 2027 class back in May. Britt gives the Badgers another high-end name to circle at the position for the future.
It’s also a strong early recruiting win for Fickell, linebackers coach Tuf Borland, and defensive coordinator Mike Tressel, as Wisconsin continues to build momentum on the trail. The Badgers are in a good spot with several other 2028 targets as well, but Britt is now the first commitment in the class.
