Wisconsin’s latest alternate look has done something rare in Madison: it’s brought the fanbase together.
Uniform debates around the Badgers usually turn into a mess, but the new “Red Out” set has landed with almost no resistance. The reaction online was immediate and loud after Wisconsin’s social media team unveiled it, with fans and even J.J. Watt piling on praise.
“Bucky W logo is top tier.”

“I love traditional Badger unis but this is an all-timer fit, just an absolute banger”
- Scary Alvarez (@barryisthedon) October 1, 2026
“This may be the greatest thing the Badgers have ever done football uniform-wise 🙏”
- Riley Jauch (@rileyjauch) October 1, 2026
“OH HELL YEAH WE’RE SO BACK”
- Drew Bryan (@drewbryanwx) October 1, 2026
That kind of response is exactly why these uniforms are hitting so hard. Wisconsin fans may not agree on much when it comes to apparel, and Under Armour hasn’t exactly won over everybody during its run.
But this one feels different. The all-red look gives the Badgers something bold without asking them to wear it every week, and as a one-off alternate, it works.
The details are what make it pop. The Bucky W patch on the sleeve is the kind of touch Wisconsin fans can get behind right away, and placing it over the two white stripes gives the jersey a vintage feel that fits the whole package.
The helmet is a big part of the appeal too. Some may prefer the Motion W, but the 1970s “W” fits this look perfectly and finishes it off cleanly.
Even the size of the logo helps sell the whole thing.
There was at least one complaint floating around that the “W” resembles Washington’s, but Wisconsin’s version has been part of the school’s historical collection for a long time. And with this particular uniform, it looks right.
The timing only makes it better. Wisconsin will wear the look against Michigan State on Saturday during a “RED OUT” game, with fans asked to show up in red as well. That means the Badgers will have the full effect going: red on the field, red in the stands, and a lot of hope that it all ends with a win over the Spartans.

Wisconsin Just Landed The Kind Of Recruit Fans Have Been Waiting For
Jalanie Georges commitment gives Wisconsin a splashy early win in the 2028 cycle and, just as importantly, another sign that the Badgers can still land a national recruit with real heavyweight competition for his signature. The consensus four-star edge rusher from Desert Edge High School in Arizona picked Wisconsin over programs like Washington, Auburn and Miami, a list that says plenty about the kind of attention he drew well before his senior season.
For Wisconsin, this is the type of addition that can change the tone of a recruiting class and lift the programs standing beyond the Midwest. George arrives as one of the highest-ranked recruits in Badgers football history, and his decision should help Wisconsins national recruiting profile in a class that already looks like it could matter far beyond the usual spring and summer buzz. Kelly Sheffield Nearly Turned A Wisconsin Rout Into A Huge Scare
Wisconsin looked like it might cruise after jumping out to a two-set lead against No. 15 Indiana at the UW Field House, but the night turned into something far more stressful before the Badgers finally came away with a five-set win. Head coach Kelly Sheffield made lineup changes that seemed to unsettle the flow, and Indiana took advantage by climbing back to even the match and putting real pressure on a Wisconsin team that had been in control early.
The Badgers did get the result they needed, and Decelise Champions late return gave Wisconsin a lift at the right time as the match tightened into a battle of nerves and momentum. Still, the way a comfortable rout nearly slipped away will give Sheffield and his staff plenty to sort through, even with a win over a ranked opponent in hand. [Read more 🡒]
Wisconsin Escaped Penn State But One Problem Could Burn Them Next Week
Wisconsin left Penn State with a win, but the kind of win that leaves plenty to clean up. The Badgers were sloppy in spots, piling up nine penalties for 52 yards while Penn State was flagged only three times for 15, and they also lost the non-quarterback rushing battle in a game where execution mattered more than style points.
Even with the mess, Wisconsin found a way to rally after its quarterback threw three interceptions, including a pick-six. That escape might buy some breathing room for the moment, but it also puts the focus right back on the same areas that could get costly again if the Badgers dont tighten them up soon. [Read more 🡒]
