The Wisconsin Badgers are gearing up for a new chapter after an exciting run to the Final Four last season, where they battled the Kentucky Wildcats in a thrilling five-set showdown. This offseason has been a whirlwind of changes, setting the stage for a fresh look in 2026.
The Badgers made strategic moves in the transfer portal, bolstering their lineup after the departures of Carter Booth and Alicia Andrew. They snagged middle blocker Jaela Auguste from Florida. Additionally, following the unexpected exit of outside hitter Una Vajagic, Wisconsin added UC Santa Barbara's Eva Travis to enhance their depth.
These transfers will blend with a promising freshman class of five, featuring outside hitters Audrey Flanagan, Madison Quest, and Halle Thompson, middle blocker/right side Kymora Scott, middle blocker Lynney Tarnow, and setter Izzy Hoppe, a late switch from Penn State.
Here's a glimpse at the 2026 roster:
Outside Hitters
- Grace Egan
- Eva Travis
- Madison Quest
- Halle Thompson
- Audrey Flanagan
Middle Blockers
- Jaela Auguste
- Natalie Wardlow
- Lynney Tarnow
Right Sides
- Grace Lopez
- Kymora Scott
Setters
- Charlie Fuerbringer

The Badgers experienced some turnover, especially among underclassmen, with several players transferring out, leaving the libero position a bit thin. With four open roster spots, it's uncertain how many will be filled, though bolstering the libero position seems likely.
Despite the changes, the team retains a solid core of returning talent and will lean on rising stars like Egan, Simon, and Fuerbringer. Fans can catch their first glimpse of the new squad during four spring matches, which promise to be exciting previews of what's to come.
The Badgers will embark on a mini tour across Wisconsin, starting with a match against Marquette at the Al McGuire Center in Milwaukee on March 23. They’ll then face Minnesota on April 10 at UW-Eau Claire's The Sonnentag, and Green Bay on April 18 at the Kress Events Center. The spring season wraps up on April 24 at the UW Field House against Northern Illinois.
With a blend of fresh talent and seasoned players, the Badgers are poised for another compelling season. Keep an eye on this dynamic squad as they aim to build on last year’s success and make waves in the upcoming season.
