With Wisconsin's 2026 recruiting class wrapped up, the Badgers are turning their attention to the 2027 prospects, with a keen eye on Texas-a state that's become a fertile recruiting ground for them. Currently, the roster boasts eight athletes from Texas, including those from the 2026 high school and transfer portal class, and the Badgers have already extended 29 offers to Texas players for 2027.
DeSoto High School has emerged as a hotspot, with Aaron Williams, a promising three-star prospect, catching the eye of Wisconsin's recruiting team, led by assistant coach Tuf Borland. The Badgers have been consistent in their pursuit, visiting Williams during the winter live period. Williams is scheduled for a visit on April 18, marking a significant step in his recruitment journey.
Williams expressed his admiration for Wisconsin's competitive spirit and their steadfast recruitment approach. "I love the way the Badgers compete.
They've been with me since day one, even before things really took off," Williams shared. "They hold a special place in my heart, and I really appreciate the opportunity to play for them."
He added that it's an honor to be considered by Wisconsin. "Coach texted me about setting up the dates, mentioned an official visit, and we talked about attending a spring practice. So, plans are in motion, and I will definitely be heading out there."
While the Badgers are making a strong push, Williams is also being courted by Illinois, Texas Tech, North Carolina, and Pittsburgh, among others. The competition is heating up, and it will be intriguing to see where Williams ultimately decides to take his talents.
