With Wisconsin's 2026 recruiting class finalized, the focus now shifts to the 2027 prospects, particularly in Minnesota-a state that's been a fertile ground for the Badgers in the past.
Currently, there are four Minnesota athletes on Wisconsin's roster, and the Badgers have already extended three offers to players from the state for the 2027 class. Leading the charge is linebacker Blake Betton, a three-star prospect who's been on Wisconsin's radar for nearly a year. Betton recently visited Madison for a junior day in January and is set to return on March 21.
Blake's father, Ray Betton, shared insights about their visit, highlighting the time spent with Tuf Borland and Coach Mike Tressel. "The individual time with Tuf was exceptional.
We even went over the allotted time with him," Ray mentioned. "Meeting Coach Luke Fickell and learning about his values, family structure, and history was very enlightening.
But the standout was definitely the time with Coach Borland and Coach Tressel."
This recruitment is shaping up to be a classic Big Ten showdown, with Wisconsin competing against Nebraska, Penn State, Michigan, and Iowa, among others, for Betton's commitment. The battle for top talent in Minnesota is heating up, and the Badgers are right in the thick of it.
