Mason Reiger is set to make a splash at the NFL Combine, and he's not keeping it a secret. In a media session today, Reiger confidently declared that he's going to deliver standout performances that will make NFL scouts take notice.
His current sixth-round projection? He’s out to prove it’s way off the mark.
Reiger, a former Wisconsin Badger, made waves at the East-West Shrine Bowl, shining in practices and earning the title of defensive MVP. His determination and work ethic have been evident throughout his time at Wisconsin and during the Shrine Bowl, and he's bringing that same intensity to the Combine.
"A lot of people don't know how well I'm going to test, off the charts, athletically," Reiger stated. He’s aware of the chatter that places him lower in athletic rankings among edge rushers, but he's ready to change that narrative. When asked about which areas he plans to excel in, his answer was simple and bold: "everything."
Reiger’s journey hasn’t been the typical path to stardom. Starting as a walk-on at Louisville, he remained under the radar even after transferring.
Playing for a struggling Big Ten team didn’t help his visibility, despite being one of the top edge rushers in the conference both statistically and athletically. But that’s what the NFL Combine is all about-giving players like Reiger a stage to showcase their talents directly to NFL scouts.
The big question now is just how much Reiger will impress. With his confident remarks, all eyes will be on his performance to see if he truly delivers those "off the charts" numbers he’s promised.
