Luke Fickell Eyes Former NFL Assistant for Wisconsin Coaching Role

Wisconsin’s football program is on the hunt for a new wide receivers coach after Jordan Reid's departure to the NFL's Atlanta Falcons. Head Coach Luke Fickell is reportedly setting his sights on Ari Confesor from the Jacksonville Jaguars to fill the vacancy.

Confesor, a name that might soon be buzzing around Wisconsin, has a rich coaching background that spans both college and professional football. His journey began in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs' scouting department from 2012 to 2013. Since then, he's made his mark across various collegiate programs, including Rhode Island, Holy Cross, Air Force, and most recently, Wake Forest.

At Wake Forest, Confesor played a pivotal role in developing Taylor Morin into the all-time leading receiver for the Demon Deacons, showcasing his knack for coaching and player development. His ability to recruit and evaluate talent has also been highly regarded.

Currently with the Jacksonville Jaguars under the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship, Confesor is gaining valuable NFL experience. This program is designed to promote diversity within NFL coaching ranks, offering opportunities for emerging coaches of color.

Confesor's versatility is another asset. While his roots are in wide receiver play-stemming from his standout days at Holy Cross-his experience extends to special teams and linebackers coaching. This diverse skill set makes him an intriguing candidate for Wisconsin, potentially adding a new dimension to their coaching staff.

As the deal is anticipated to finalize soon, Wisconsin fans may soon see Confesor bringing his expertise and dynamic approach to the Badgers' sidelines.
