Jake Ferguson and Haley Cavinder may be newlyweds, but the Cowboys just put their partnership through a very public pop quiz.
Last week, Dallas posted a “couples challenge with Ferg and Haley” on social media, testing how well the tight end and the former Miami basketball star know each other. One person wore headphones to block out the answers while the other named a favorite thing and tried to predict what their partner would say. Then they swapped.
The result? A lot of near misses, a couple of clean hits and plenty of material for the comment sections.
On favorite TV show, Cavinder said hers is “Grey's Anatomy” and Ferguson’s is “Game of Thrones.” Ferguson said his is “GOT” or “House of the Dragon,” then guessed his wife might go with “Ransom Canyon” or “some heartthrob show.”
When the headphones came off, Cavinder said she watches Grey's “all the time” and noted she had already told Jake that “Ransom Canyon” is “an awful show.” That one goes to Cavinder, though Ferguson gets a sliver of credit if “heartthrob show” was meant to cover Grey’s.
The color question was a miss on both sides. Cavinder said pink and Jake said green, but Ferguson insisted, “Her favorite color is white, angelic,” while adding, “Mine is also white, 'cause she looks great in white.” No points there, but the newlywed energy was obvious.
Holiday was a better swing for Ferguson. Cavinder guessed Christmas for both of them, but Jake’s actual favorite is Halloween.
He did nail hers, though, and Cavinder laughed it off with, “Oh dang it! I knew this,” before adding, “He likes to put on makeup, that's why.”
They each connected on food. Cavinder said chips and salsa, and Ferguson’s answer was a ribeye.
Ferguson said his favorite is steak and Cavinder’s is chips and salsa. Clean hit for both.
Music genre brought the same mixed results as the rest of the game. Cavinder said country and guessed Jake was somewhere between country and rap.
Ferguson said his favorite genre is “alt 2000s” and that hers is rap. Another miss.
By the end, Cavinder and Ferguson finished 2 for 5, with a little extra wiggle room for Jake if you want to be generous.
The internet, naturally, had thoughts. “Have these 2 ever met each other?
😂” one TikTok user wrote. Another Instagram commenter said, “Someone introduce them, please; they’d be a good match 😂” Haley jumped in herself, posting, “We're so good at this game,” on Instagram.
And the joint TikTok account she shares with her twin sister Hanna added, “listening to each other is our strong suit,”
This wasn’t the first time the Cowboys had turned Ferguson’s relationship into a game. Almost a year ago, the team had Jake and Hanna compete in a similar setup, asking questions to see who knew Haley best. Hanna won that one.
Ferguson and Cavinder’s story started in June 2023, when he slid into her social DMs. They began dating in September 2023, according to People.
The couple announced their engagement in April 2025 with a joint Instagram post. The proposal took place on Fort Myers Beach in Florida.
Their wedding run-up was busy, too. Haley’s first bridal shower was held in March at Madison’s Cento, hosted by Ferguson’s grandma, Cindy Alvarez, the philanthropist and former first lady of Badgers football.
Cindy Alvarez is the wife of Barry Alvarez, the longtime Wisconsin football coach and athletics director. Also in March, the couple took a joint bachelor-bachelorette trip to the Bahamas.
Jake and Haley were married on June 20 at the Coral Gables’ Biltmore Hotel.

Wisconsin Fans Just Got Shawn Eichorsts Tone On Luke Fickell
Shawn Eichorsts first public tone as Wisconsins new athletic director sounded less like a salesman and more like a steadying hand. With fan skepticism still hanging over the program and ticket sales and enthusiasm both slipping in recent seasons, Eichorst asked for unity and optimism as the Badgers look ahead to the 2026 football season, while stressing that the players and coaches are putting in the work and trying to improve every day.
For Wisconsin supporters, the bigger takeaway may be that Eichorst is still in evaluation mode. He said he is continuing to assess the program and plans to judge it fully in time, which leaves the most important questions about where the Badgers are headed unresolved for now. The message was clear enough, though: patience is being asked for, and the next phase of the program will be measured as much by progress behind the scenes as by anything that shows up in the standings. Wisconsin Is Already Testing O-Line Depth Before Notre Dame
Midway through fall camp, Wisconsin is already getting a look at how much offensive-line flexibility it may need before the Notre Dame opener. The Badgers are sorting through new starters up front while dealing with injuries that have trimmed the margin for error, including the absence of Kevin Heywood and the ongoing uncertainty around Emerson Mandell. For a group that has to come together quickly in August, every rep matters, and the staff is using this stretch to find out which combinations can hold up.
Luke Fickell said Mandells progress remains part of the conversation, and the timing gives backups Blake Cherry and Stylz Blackmon a chance to keep piling up work in a competitive camp setting. Wisconsin does not have the luxury of easing into the season with so much turnover on the line, so the next several practices will help show whether the depth chart is stabilizing or still has room to move before the Irish arrive.
