The Wisconsin Badgers are gearing up to welcome a standout recruit from Delaware, DJ Davis, for an Official Visit later this year. This visit marks a significant step in Davis' recruitment journey, as it will be his first Official Visit, scheduled for the weekend of June 4th. Following this, Davis is set to visit the Syracuse Orange on June 12th, which is currently his only other confirmed visit.
Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 185 pounds, Davis is a three-star athlete hailing from Middletown, Delaware. He holds the distinction of being the second-ranked recruit in the state, trailing only four-star offensive tackle Layton Von Brandt, who is heavily favored to commit to Notre Dame. Nationally, Davis is ranked as the 40th athlete and 559th overall recruit in his class.
Davis has garnered scholarship offers from several powerhouse programs, including Duke, Pittsburgh, North Carolina, and West Virginia. While no additional Official Visits are currently on his calendar, this could change as his recruitment progresses. Notably, Davis has made two unofficial visits to Penn State, experiencing the program under both the previous and current coaching staffs.
On the field, Davis shines with his versatility, playing primarily as a wide receiver and defensive back. His athletic prowess has earned him the "athlete" designation in recruiting circles, with colleges primarily eyeing him as a safety. The Badgers are keen to bolster their secondary with his aggressive play style and physical explosiveness, traits that have made him a standout on tape.
Wisconsin's safeties coach, Jack Cooper, along with defensive coordinator Mike Tressel, have been instrumental in Davis' recruitment. Cooper first extended a scholarship offer in May 2025 and has maintained consistent communication ever since. Davis' willingness to lay it all on the line and his exceptional hand-eye coordination make him a coveted addition to the Badgers' defensive plans.
