AJ Storr Keeps Reviving A Badgers Transfer Portal Debate

AJ Storr's remarkable journey continues as he transfers to his ninth school, UNLV, in hopes of capitalizing on his final year of college basketball eligibility.

AJ Storr’s college journey is about to add another stop.

After a season at Ole Miss, the former Wisconsin wing has entered the transfer portal again and committed to UNLV, giving him a ninth school in nine years once he suits up for the Rebels.

Storr’s path has been as restless as it is unusual. He came to Wisconsin as one of the program’s biggest transfer portal additions in recent years after his freshman season at St.

John’s, where he averaged 8.8 points and shot better than 40 percent from three. The Badgers made him a centerpiece of the offense in 2023-24, betting on a breakout.

That bet paid off in production. Storr nearly doubled his scoring average, putting up 16.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game while shooting 43.4 percent from the field and 32.0 percent from three.

Wisconsin climbed from an NIT team to a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Tournament, but Storr’s stay in Madison was brief. He jumped back into the portal and landed at Kansas.

Things never really clicked with the Jayhawks. Storr played just 15.4 minutes per game there before moving on again for his senior season to Ole Miss under Chris Beard.

That stop looked more like the version of Storr Wisconsin had hoped for. At Ole Miss, he averaged 15.5 points on 44.8 percent shooting from the field and logged 26.3 minutes per game.

His college route now includes stops at St. John’s, Wisconsin, Kansas, Ole Miss, and, now, UNLV. The source material also notes that his path stretches back through four different high schools: Kankakee High School, Bishop Gorman High School, Chandler High School, and a post-graduate season at IMG Academy.

Following the court ruling allowing fifth-year seniors another year of eligibility, Storr is back in college basketball and set to join a UNLV group that also includes Sebastian Mack, Alyn Breed, Jeremy Foumena, and Cam Miles among the incoming transfers. He should have a clear path to immediate minutes.

Wisconsin Fans Just Sent Luke Fickell A Brutal Message

Since Luke Fickell took over in Madison, the results have been tough enough to show up in the standings, with Wisconsin sitting at 17 wins and 21 losses under his watch. The disappointment has now spilled beyond the field and into the fan base, where season ticket sales have taken a notable hit and the mood around the program feels a lot less patient than it did when he arrived.

Wisconsin sold 47,587 season tickets, down from 54,780 the previous year, a 13.1% drop that sends a clear signal about how supporters are reacting. For Fickell, the message is unmistakable: the margin for error is shrinking, and the pressure is building in a way that could even reach athletic director Shawn Eichorst as the program tries to steady itself. Former Badgers Star Faces Troubling Recovery Question After Camp Injury

Tyler Biadaszs next chapter with the Chargers has taken an unfortunate turn, with the former Wisconsin star and seasoned NFL center suffering a significant knee injury during a joint practice against the 49ers. He is out indefinitely after the issue was diagnosed as an ACL injury, and the damage also includes his MCL, a setback that immediately raises questions about how soon he can get back on the field.

Biadasz is now seeking additional medical opinions as he sorts through the recovery path, which is where the uncertainty really starts to settle in. Even with the severity of the injury, there is still some hope he could return this season, but for now the focus is on how the Chargers handle a key piece of their offensive line without a clear timetable. Wisconsin Is Asking One Quarterback To Save Its 2026 Season

Luke Fickell heads into 2026 knowing the margin for patience around Wisconsin football has thinned, and the offense is again the place where the program needs a real lift. The Badgers went into the transfer portal and brought in Colton Joseph from Old Dominion, a move that puts a lot of the seasons hopes on a quarterback who is expected to help change the tone of the attack and give Wisconsin something it has lacked too often in recent years.

For Joseph, the assignment is bigger than just winning a job. If he settles in quickly, Wisconsin can start talking about more than just getting back to a bowl game and instead chase the kind of upward climb that keeps a coaching staff out of trouble. If he does not, the questions around Fickell and the direction of the program are only going to get louder, which is why this quarterback move carries so much weight before a snap has been taken.
