Moose Schedule Puts Jets Next Wave On A Real Test

Discover how the Manitoba Moose's newly released 2026-27 schedule sets the stage for the emergence of promising future Winnipeg Jets stars.

The Manitoba Moose are giving fans a first look at the next wave of Winnipeg Jets prospects, and the 2026-27 slate opens with a bang.

Released Thursday, the Moose’s schedule features 72 games and puts some of the organization’s most intriguing young names front and center, including former high draft picks Colby Barlow, Brayden Yager and Elias Salomonsson. These are the players who may not be in Winnipeg right away, but are expected to push their way into bigger roles down the line.

The season starts at home on Saturday, October 3 against the Chicago Wolves, one of Manitoba’s most familiar rivals. Chicago is coming off a strong run of its own after reaching the Calder Cup Finals before losing to the Toronto Marlies.

From there, the early test gets even tougher. The Moose head out for their first road game on Friday, October 9 against the Grand Rapids Griffins, who are fresh off a historic 2025-26 season. Grand Rapids went 51-16-4-1 for 107 points, the best regular-season mark in franchise history, and they figure to be a problem again.

Manitoba wraps up the regular season on April 11 at home against Grand Rapids, with Fan Appreciation Day closing the book on the schedule.

The calendar is packed with familiar AHL heavyweights, including Chicago, Grand Rapids, Texas, Rockford, Milwaukee, Iowa, Toronto, Belleville, Abbotsford, Calgary, Bakersfield and Laval. The Moose also have a busy stretch in late October, a heavy run through December, and a final month that includes back-to-back home games against Grand Rapids to finish things off.

The full schedule runs through a string of notable dates, including home sets against Texas, Toronto, Rockford, Belleville, Abbotsford, Calgary, Milwaukee, Laval, Bakersfield, Iowa and Grand Rapids, plus road trips that take Manitoba to places like Chicago, Grand Rapids, Iowa, Milwaukee, Rockford, Texas, Calgary, Bakersfield, Abbotsford, Toronto, Belleville and Laval.

All Manitoba Moose games will be carried on CJOB.com, the Winnipeg Jets App and AHLTV on FloHockey with a subscription.

Moose 2026 27 Schedule Is Out And Winnipeg Can Start Planning

The Manitoba Moose and the American Hockey League have already given Winnipeg plenty to circle on the calendar, with the 2026-27 regular-season schedule now out and a full 72-game slate in place. It is the kind of release that gives a fan base a first real look at the rhythm of a season, from the opening stretch through the long winter grind and into the spring finish, with 12 different opponents and the usual mix of theme nights and special dates built in.

For the Moose, there is also a little extra intrigue in the matchups themselves, including a first look at Bakersfield in several seasons and a bigger push on the school-day front. The club is expanding its Project 11 School Day game program, which should add a different kind of energy to the building and give the schedule a few more marked mornings for families and young fans, even before the real on-ice story starts to take shape.
