Goaltender Thomas Milic is headed to Rockford, Illinois, as the Manitoba Moose’s lone representative at the 2026 AHL All-Star Classic, set for February 10-11. It’s a well-earned honor for the 22-year-old netminder, who’s been steadily climbing the ranks since being drafted by the Winnipeg Jets in 2023.
Milic has been a steady presence between the pipes for the Moose this season, posting an 8-4-2 record through 15 appearances, along with a 2.57 goals-against average, a .902 save percentage, and one shutout. Those numbers reflect more than just solid play-they show a young goaltender growing into his role and making a real impact at the pro level.
And while the AHL All-Star nod is a big deal, it’s not the only milestone he’s hit this season. Milic made his NHL debut with the Jets back on November 28 against the Carolina Hurricanes, a moment that marked another step forward in his development.
At six feet tall, Milic isn’t the biggest goaltender in today’s game, but he makes up for it with sharp positioning, quick reads, and a calm presence in the crease. He’s not flashy, but he’s efficient-and that’s exactly what the Moose have needed in net.
This year’s All-Star Classic will feature 12 players from each of the AHL’s four divisions, with all 32 teams represented. Rosters were selected by committees of AHL coaches, and Milic joins a Central Division squad that includes names like Sebastian Cossa (Grand Rapids), Kevin Korchinski and Nick Lardis (Rockford), and Hunter Haight (Iowa), among others.
Looking at Milic’s career numbers, there’s a clear trajectory of growth. In 69 career AHL games, he’s compiled a 32-25-7 record with a 2.91 GAA, .893 save percentage, and two shutouts. Those stats may not leap off the page, but they tell the story of a young goaltender who’s been asked to carry a significant load and has responded with consistency and resilience.
Last season, defenseman Elias Salomonsson was the Moose’s All-Star representative. This time around, it’s the guy in the blue paint. And given the way Milic has played this year, it’s hard to argue with the selection.
The All-Star Classic is always a showcase of rising talent, and for Milic, it’s a chance to stand alongside some of the league’s best and show just how far he’s come. For the Moose and the Jets organization, it’s another sign that their goaltending pipeline is in good hands.
