Jets Fans Have A Meaningful New Way To Back Adam Lowry

As part of Child Abuse Awareness Month, the Winnipeg Jets will use their annual Child Advocacy Game to rally fans and raise funds for Toba Centre, a leading child protection organization.

The Winnipeg Jets are turning their Oct. 17 matchup with the Carolina Hurricanes into more than just a game.

For their fifth annual Child Advocacy Game, the club is partnering with Toba Centre for Children & Youth to spotlight Child Abuse Awareness Month and push resources out to Manitobans on how to support children and families affected by abuse, and how to help prevent child abuse and neglect.

The night will carry a clear blue theme. Fans are being asked to join the #GoBlueToba effort and wear blue to the game, where Toba Centre’s “helping hounds” - DWW Duke, DWW Booster and DWW Jelly - will handle the ceremonial puck drop at centre ice. The dogs, who work with the youth and families who visit the centre, will also appear on the concourse with the Toba Centre team during October home games to share information with fans.

There are also a few ways for supporters to contribute directly. On Oct. 17, fans can buy an Adam Lowry-signed Toba Centre puck at Jets Gear, with every dollar going to Toba Centre. A Cocktail or Mocktail in Blue will also be on offer, with $1 from each drink supporting the organization.

The first 5,000 fans through the doors will get a Kids Charm Bracelet featuring the jersey of Jets captain Adam Lowry, who has been a Toba Centre ambassador and dedicated advocate for the past six years.

Lowry will also be front and centre off the ice this week. On Thursday, Oct. 8, he is set to co-host Toba Centre’s fifth annual gala, A Night in Blue, alongside local radio personality Ace Burpee at the Canadian Museum of Human Rights. Since 2022, that event has raised more than $685,000 for Toba Centre, helping more youth and families impacted by abuse get the support they need.

Toba Centre will have its team and support dogs at several other Jets home dates this month as well: Oct. 7 vs. Colorado, Oct. 9 vs.

Anaheim, Oct. 13 vs. Minnesota, Oct. 17 vs.

Carolina, Oct. 25 at the 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic vs. Montreal and Oct. 27 vs.

Florida.

The organization’s #GoBlueToba campaign also includes a call for Manitobans to wear blue on Oct. 24, attend Child Abuse Awareness Month events and follow Toba Centre on social media at @tobacentremb on Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.

Hurricanes May Be Waiting On One Thing In Connor Hellebuyck Talks

Connor Hellebuycks name is still floating through the rumor mill, but the latest chatter suggests the market around the Jets goalie is narrowing in a hurry. Pierre LeBrun said on TSN 1050s OverDrive that Hellebuyck will not play for a Canadian team, which effectively takes the Edmonton speculation out of the picture and leaves the focus on suitors south of the border. The discussion from Jeff Marek and Greg Wyshynski also kept alive the idea of Hellebuyck simply staying put in Winnipeg, even if there is no real trade pressure pushing the situation forward right now.

The Carolina Hurricanes are still in the mix, and they remain interested enough to keep tabs on the situation, but they do not appear convinced the Jets can squeeze them into bidding higher. From Winnipegs side, that matters because it changes the shape of any negotiation without necessarily changing the destination list. For now, the real question is whether Carolina sees enough urgency to move or whether this stays one of those summer goalie sagas that lingers without reaching a clean finish. [Read more 🡒]

Jets Shake Up Lineup Vs Avalanche With One Notable Player Left Out

The Jets are making a few noticeable tweaks before facing the Avalanche, with changes coming throughout the bottom six and across the defense. Cole Koepke is set to make his season debut, while Salomonsson remains out of the lineup as Winnipeg continues to manage its depth pieces heading into a tough Western Conference test.

In goal, Stuart Skinner is getting the start after Clay Stevenson made his Jets debut Monday night. The more surprising roster note, though, is the healthy scratch status for Nino Niederreiter, a decision that adds a little more intrigue to how Winnipeg is trying to balance its forwards for this one. Jets Heritage Classic Reveal Brings Back A Look Fans Know Well

The NHL and Fanatics unveiled the uniforms for the 2026 Tim Hortons NHL Heritage Classic, giving fans an early look at what Winnipeg will wear when the Jets meet the Montral Canadiens on Oct. 25 at Princess Auto Stadium. The Jets sweater leans into a familiar chapter of franchise history, drawing from the clubs 1980s and 1990s look, while the Canadiens design folds in elements from across their own jersey history and adds a first-time Les Habitants detail on the back collar.

For Winnipeg, the reveal is another reminder that this game is being built around nostalgia as much as occasion, with a look that should resonate immediately with longtime supporters. Tickets and merchandise are already available through official channels, and with the venue set and the uniforms now public, the final pregame buildup can start to take shape even if the full event still has a few months to unfold.
