The Winnipeg Jets are coming off a 2025-26 season they’d rather forget, one that saw them drop by 21 wins and miss the playoffs. But even in a down year, there are individual markers worth watching as 2026-27 approaches. A handful of Jets are on the verge of meaningful career milestones, and several of them could hit those numbers early and often.
Morgan Barron is the closest to a tidy round number. The 27-year-old fourth-liner and penalty-kill regular has 83 points in 321 career games and is in line to get to 100 sometime in the 2027 portion of the schedule. That path could get there a little faster if he keeps earning more top-six looks like he did last season, when he put up a career-best 23 points - 11 goals and 12 assists - in 65 games.
Kyle Connor keeps climbing the ladder too. The Jets winger already has 674 career points, all in Winnipeg since the club drafted him 17th overall in 2015.
After a 92-point season last year, with 39 goals and 53 assists, he’s now within reach of 700. A year ago there was some uncertainty about whether his chase of 600 points might be the last big milestone he reached as a Jet, but he settled that by signing an eight-year extension one day before the 2025-26 opener.
Mario Ferraro is set to hit a different kind of marker almost immediately. The offseason free-agent addition is sitting at 490 career games, all of them with the San Jose Sharks over his first seven seasons, so his 500th should come quickly in Winnipeg.
The Jets are hoping that’s only the first box he checks with them after signing a three-year deal. He’s coming off a career 2025-26, finishing with seven goals, 16 assists and 23 points, and he’s expected to help on the left side of the third pairing while also bringing penalty-kill value.
Josh Morrissey is closing in on a rare one for a defenseman: 100 career goals. The longtime Jets blue-liner and alternate captain has 94 career goals, all with Winnipeg since being drafted 13th overall in 2013. He has reached double digits in goals in each of the past four seasons and scored 14 last season, so his 100th goal should arrive around the middle of the campaign.
Nino Niederreiter is right on the doorstep of 500 career points. He sits at 499 after a season in which his production dipped to 19 points and he missed time following arthroscopic knee surgery that he had delayed.
The 33-year-old’s career scoring line is nearly even, with 248 goals and 251 assists. He reached 1,000 career games last December and represented Switzerland at the 2026 Winter Olympics in February.
Mark Scheifele has the biggest pair of milestones in sight. The Jets’ longtime first-line center and first-ever Jets 2.0 draft pick is on track to reach 1,000 career games this season and is also 28 goals away from 400.
He enters the year with 961 career games, and if he plays the first 38, he’d hit the 1,000-game mark in the Jets’ 39th game, Tuesday, Dec. 22 in Nashville against the Predators. Scheifele would join Niederreiter, Sam Gagner, Paul Stastny and Blake Wheeler as players to receive that award as a member of the Jets.
He scored 36 goals last season, posted a career-high 103 points and became the first 2.0 Jet to reach 100 points.
