West Virginia’s junior college class has had enough time on campus now to start sorting itself out.
Back in February, the early read on the Mountaineers’ JUCO additions came before any of them had gone through a practice. After 15 spring practices and summer workouts, there’s a clearer picture of who looks most likely to matter in 2026. That updated ranking now includes safety Tim Roberson of Iowa Western CC, who was added over the summer.
At the top of the list sits DL KJ Henson, followed by DL Darius Wiley, WR Keon Hutchins, and S Da’Mare Williams. The rest of the updated order runs through WR Kedrick Triplett, CB Rayshawn Reynolds Jr., RB Martavious Boswell, CB Da’Mun Allen, EDGE Jeremiah Johnson, DL Jaylen Thomas, OL Deshawn Woods, and Roberson at No. 12.
Wiley is the biggest riser in the group. He was already viewed as someone who "has a chance to develop into a high-caliber Big 12 player," and that belief has only grown after a strong spring and noticeable progress in the weight room. The expectation now is that he’ll be the backup defensive end behind Zeke Durham-Campbell.
That makes sense based on what he’s already done. Last season as a redshirt freshman, Wiley had 20 tackles for loss and nine sacks, and he has a habit of living in the backfield. The jump to this level may take some adjustment, but the disruption should still show up this fall.
Allen’s slide down the list is more about the updated pecking order than a knock on him. The initial ranking was made with limited information, and several players have since pushed ahead of him, including Reynolds, Williams, Wiley, and Henson.
Even so, Allen remains very much in the picture. He could still grow into a starter, and right now he’s in the mix for a rotational role with Reynolds, ChaMarryus Bomar, and Keyshawn Robinson.
