PSU Great Under Fire For Dangerous Jalen Hurts Accusation

Deck: Former NFL player Michael Robinson faces backlash for implying Eagles QB Jalen Hurts could be faking a blood clot to avoid blame for offensive woes.

An ugly theory about Jalen Hurts turned into one of Friday night’s more jaw-dropping NFL talking points.

Michael Robinson, now an NFL Network analyst and a former fullback, suggested on air that the Eagles quarterback might be faking a blood clot to make it look like he isn’t the reason for Philadelphia’s offensive struggles.

“If I’m Jalen Hurts or anybody in Jalen Hurts’ camp, ‘Well, if everybody is hurt, I’m hurt, too,’” Robinson said.

He pushed the idea even further from there.

“Guys, I’ve been cleated before, and I’m not saying a superficial blood clot isn’t serious. I’m not saying that,” Robinson said. “But I would advise all of our viewers to go Google, ‘Superficial blood clot as opposed to a real blood clot.’”

Robinson also said he is not a medical expert, even as he tried to minimize the issue to support his theory.

“But to me, it looked like Jalen is getting himself out of the fray, so that this loss season ... this a loss season,” Robinson said. “He’s pulling himself off so this doesn’t look like this is on me.”

The reaction from former NFL linebacker A.J. Hawk Griffin was immediate and blistering.

“THIS IS RIDICULOUS,” Griffin wrote on X. “The negative narratives around Jalen Hurts have to stop.

Michael Robinson is accusing Jalen Hurts of saying, ‘Well if everybody’s hurt, I’m hurt, too.” And that Jalen Hurts is “pulling himself out so that this doesn’t look like it’s on me.” when Jalen Hurts has a BLOOD CLOT THAT SHOWED MOVEMENT AND COULD BE LIFE THREATENING.That’s OUTRAGEOUS

“WHAT ARE WE DOING MAN? I would never expect this from a former player.I wouldn’t expect this from ANYBODY. Jalen Hurts can’t even have a serious medical condition in peace.”

West Virginia Let A 15-Point Lead Turn Into A Bigger Concern

West Virginia had the game under control for stretches, but a 15-point lead slowly slipped away as Maryland turned an exhibition into a warning sign. The Mountaineers still got a strong scoring night from Finley Bizjack, who finished with 25 points, yet the early cushion did not hold once Marylands pressure and physicality began to tilt the matchup.

Andre Mills carried the Terps with 27 points, and Pharrel Payne added a double-double with 26 points and 13 rebounds as Maryland finished the rally and outlasted West Virginia 90-81 in overtime. For the Mountaineers, the bigger concern was not just the final result, but how turnovers and the loss of composure allowed a manageable game to become one they could not recover from. [Read more 🡒]

WVU Just Reopened A Bowl Path With Everything Still To Prove

A narrow win over Cincinnati gave West Virginia a much-needed boost and, just as importantly, reopened the conversation about a possible bowl trip. With the record moving in the right direction, the Mountaineers are back in the mix in a way that felt uncertain not long ago, and several outlets have already started slotting them into different postseason possibilities. Others are still waiting to make a call, which says plenty about how much work remains.

The problem is the road ahead is hardly forgiving. TCU is next, and the Horned Frogs are favored by oddsmakers, which means West Virginia will have to keep stacking results against a tougher part of the schedule if it wants the bowl chatter to turn into something real. For now, the Mountaineers have restored hope, but they have not yet earned the kind of cushion that makes the rest of November feel safe. [Read more 🡒]

West Virginia Has A Big 12 Chance Fans Can't Ignore At TCU

A wild stretch in the Big 12 has opened the door for West Virginia in a way that seemed far less likely a few weeks ago. The latest round of conference results brought enough chaos, upset losses and shifting momentum to shake up the standings, and the Mountaineers now find themselves with a real chance to move up in the league picture if they handle business at TCU.

Week 8 brings the kind of matchup that can change a seasons tone in a hurry, especially with bowl positioning and the conference hierarchy still very much in flux. For West Virginia, the test in Fort Worth is about more than just one game on the schedule, because a strong showing would only add to the pressure on the teams around them and keep this unexpectedly open Big 12 race moving in their direction.
