The Wizards have agreed to terms with free agent guard Alondes Williams, agent Daniel Hazan told NBA insider Chris Haynes.
The exact terms weren’t revealed, but Williams no longer has two-way eligibility and has never been on a standard NBA contract, so this is expected to be a non-guaranteed training camp deal with Exhibit 9 and Exhibit 10 language.
Williams entered the league as an undrafted guard out of Wake Forest in 2022 and has spent the last four years moving between the NBA and the G League. His stops have included the Nets, Heat, Pistons, and Wizards, along with each team’s G League affiliate.
The 6-foot-4 guard has appeared in just 13 NBA games, but he showed what he can do in Washington on a 10-day deal in February. In four bench appearances, he averaged 11.0 points per game while shooting .615/.357/.875, and he punctuated that run with a 25-point, 10-rebound night in a win over Indiana on Feb. 20.
Williams has been even more productive in the G League, where he has built a strong case as one of the more consistent guards around. In 35 games for the Capital City Go-Go in 2025/26, he posted a career-best 22.5 points per game, along with 5.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per contest. Back in 2023/24, he was named the G League’s Most Improved Player and earned All-NBAGL first-team honors.
There’s at least a route for Williams to make Washington’s opening night roster this fall, since the Wizards currently have 14 players on standard contracts. Still, barring a major preseason surge, the more likely outcome is that he heads back to the Go-Go to start the season.
