In the world of NBA roster moves, Kadary Richmond and Lovering are back on the free-agent market after their 10-day contracts wrapped up. Both players have been honing their skills in the G League, with Lovering recently playing for the Grizzlies and Richmond for the Wizards.
Lovering, a towering 7-footer, made his mark in college basketball with stints at Colorado and Utah before going undrafted in 2025. He showcased his potential with the NBAGL’s Memphis Hustle, earning a call-up to the Grizzlies.
While he didn’t see action in his first active game, Lovering quickly made an impact, contributing three points, four rebounds, and two steals in a game against Denver. He truly shined in a matchup against the Jazz, recording a double-double with 11 points, 11 rebounds, and adding three assists, a steal, and a block in 32 minutes as the starting center.
Richmond, standing at 6’5”, joined the Wizards on a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract after going undrafted from St. John’s.
Although waived at the end of the preseason, he found a spot with the Capital City Go-Go, Washington’s G League affiliate. In his brief time with the Wizards, Richmond impressed by averaging 8.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 2.7 steals over three games, boasting an efficient shooting performance.
With these contracts concluded, the Grizzlies now have an open roster spot to fill. Meanwhile, the Wizards are preparing to promote Tristan Vukcevic to a three-year standard contract and plan to sign Leaky Black to fill Vukcevic’s previous two-way role. As teams continue to shuffle their rosters, both Lovering and Richmond will be eager to find their next opportunity in the league.
