Washington State Swimming made waves at the recent Mountain West Conference Championships in Houston, securing a remarkable haul of honors. The Cougars walked away with seven titles, and six individual swimmers stood on the podium, marking a historic second-place finish for the program.
Leading the charge was senior Emily Lundgren, who clinched the 200 IM title. Sophomore sensation Darcy Revitt dominated the sprints, winning both the 50 and 100 free events. The relay teams were unstoppable, claiming victories in the 200 free, 400 free, 200 medley, and 400 medley relays.
A total of 12 individuals earned All-Mountain West Conference honors, a testament to the depth and talent within the squad. This achievement surpasses last year's 10 all-conference selections, showcasing the program's upward trajectory.
Freshman Avery Bulkley from Payson, Utah, made an impressive debut, earning her first all-league honor with a fifth-place finish in the 1650 free. Her time of 16:38.80 ranks as the seventh-best in WSU history.
Jade Castro, a junior transfer from Auburn, also shone brightly, securing all-league recognition with a fifth-place finish in the 200 back, clocking in at 1:56.99.
Sophomore Ashlyn Hernandez from San Diego continued her strong form, earning her second all-league honor. She was pivotal in the 400 medley relay victory and set a personal best in the 200 breast prelims with a time of 2:11.39.
Southlake, Texas native Tatum Janning, another sophomore standout, earned her second consecutive all-league nod. Janning's third-place finish in the 1650 free and strong performances in the 500 free and 400 IM highlighted her versatility.
Junior Addyson Lewis from Missoula, Montana, grabbed her first individual all-league honor while playing key roles in the 200 medley and 200 free relay wins. Her performance in the 100 fly prelims was the ninth-best in WSU history.
Senior Emily Lundgren, the reigning conference Swimmer of the Year from Chula Vista, California, added more accolades to her name with all-league honors in multiple events, including the 100 breast and 200 IM.
Freshman Barbora Mileisyte from Vilnius, Lithuania, and Keszthely, Hungary's Vivien Nett contributed to the relay successes, with Mileisyte tying for second in the 50 free.
Sophomore Issabelle Parrish from Moses Lake, Washington, and senior Anna Rauchholz from Portland were instrumental in the relay triumphs, with Rauchholz setting a school record in the 100 back.
Darcy Revitt, the MWC Co-Swimmer of the Meet from Guildford, England, was a force to be reckoned with, setting school records in the 50 and 100 free and anchoring multiple relay victories.
Senior Lauren Wille from Oswego, Illinois, rounded out the impressive performances, earning her second straight all-league honor with strong showings in the 500 and 1650 free.
The Cougars now set their sights on the NCAA Championships in Atlanta from March 18-21, ready to make another splash on the national stage.
