Washington State's Swimming Stars Shine at NCAA Championships
The NCAA Championships are in full swing, and Washington State's senior sensation Emily Lundgren is making waves. Lundgren, a standout swimmer from Chula Vista, California, has become a cornerstone of the program, being the first in WSU history to qualify for the NCAA Championships four times. Her performance in the 100 Breast preliminaries was impressive, clocking in at 59.83 seconds, placing her 27th nationally.
Lundgren's legacy at Washington State is already cemented. She holds school records in the 100 Breast (58.83), 200 Breast (2:06.18), 100 Fly (52.60), and 200 IM (1:57.81).
With 18 individual wins this season and a career total of 59, she's a three-time All-American. Her accolades include an honorable mention in the 200 Breast as a sophomore and All-America honors in the 200 Breast last year, where she finished sixth-a program-best at the NCAA Championships.
Meanwhile, sophomore Darcy Revitt from Guildford, England, is proving to be a formidable force in her own right. Making her second consecutive NCAA appearance, Revitt dominated the Mountain West Championships, clinching titles in the 50 Free and 100 Free. Her stellar performances earned her the Co-Swimmer of the Meet, further highlighted by her contributions to the 200 Free Relay, 400 Free Relay, 200 Medley Relay, and 400 Medley Relay teams.
Revitt now holds school records in the 50 Free (21.83) and 100 Free (47.45), boasting a team-best 20 individual wins this season. Her journey to the NCAA's last year set the stage for what promises to be an exciting continuation of her swimming career.
As Lundgren and Revitt continue their campaigns, the Cougar community eagerly watches, anticipating more record-breaking performances and unforgettable moments.
