The Pac-12 is back in the championship business, and the betting board shows just how unsettled this race is.
For the first time since 2023, the conference will crown a champion. The last two seasons, the league was stripped down to just Oregon State and Washington State after most of its members moved on. Now it returns as a full eight-team conference, with Boise State, San Diego State, Fresno State, Texas State, Utah State, and Colorado State joining Oregon State and Washington State for the 2026 season.
That reset has opened the door for a wide-ranging title race. Colorado State sits with the longest odds at 18-1, which still translates to an implied probability of 5.26% to win the conference.
At the top of the board is Boise State at +154, and it’s easy to see why. The Broncos have won the Mountain West three straight times in 2023, 2024, and 2025 before making the move to the Pac-12.
Still, Boise State isn’t the spot where the value sits for this prediction. The Broncos’ offense should be strong with quarterback Maddux Madsen leading the way, but the defense is a different story after losing all but four starters from a group that was already less than stellar a year ago.
That’s why San Diego State stands out at +470.
The Aztecs bring back one of the nation’s better defensive units from last season, one that held opponents to 16.7 points per game, the seventh-best mark in the country. Their offensive outlook will hinge on health, though. Seven players are back from last year’s team, including starting quarterback Jayden Denegal, who played through a shoulder injury during the 2025 season.
If San Diego State can keep that defense near the same level and get more from the offense, the Aztecs look like the best bet on the board to win the first Pac-12 Championship Game since 2023.
