When Friday rolled around, all eyes were on the defensive backs at the combine, and the Huskies' own Tacario Davis and Ephesians Prysock didn't disappoint. These two cornerbacks showcased their athletic prowess and left a lasting impression.
Tacario Davis put up a 40-yard dash time of 4.41 seconds with a 20-yard split clocking in at 2.56 seconds. His vertical jump reached an impressive 37 inches, while his broad jump stretched to 10 feet, three inches.
Standing tall at 6-foot-4 and weighing 194 pounds, Davis was rated as good-to-great on the Relative Athletic Score (RAS) scale. Though his agility drill numbers weren't available, his performance was nothing short of remarkable.
Ephesians Prysock, not to be outdone, posted a 40-yard dash of 4.45 seconds and a 20-yard split of 2.58. His vertical leap soared to 39 inches, and his broad jump hit 10-foot-4.
At 6-foot-3 and 196 pounds, Prysock also received high marks on the RAS, drawing comparisons to NFL veteran Ahkello Witherspoon. Among cornerbacks at the combine, Prysock and Davis ranked third and sixth respectively in RAS scores, with Prysock at 9.90 and Davis at 9.76.
Davis, who played for Arizona from 2022-24, earned two-time all-conference honors, making second-team All-Pac-12 in 2023 and second-team All-Big-12 in 2024. Unfortunately, his time with Washington last season was limited to seven games due to injuries, yet he managed 19 tackles, two interceptions, and five passes defended, earning a 67.2 overall grade from Pro Football Focus.
Prysock, on the other hand, was a consistent presence for the Huskies, playing in all 13 games. He recorded 48 tackles, one interception, and eight passes defended, achieving a solid 77.1 grade from Pro Football Focus.
As the NFL Draft approaches, Washington looks poised for a standout year, with several players like quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and wide receiver Rome Odunze having already made waves in the 2024 Draft. Wide receiver Denzel Boston is projected as a first-round pick, while running back Jonah Coleman and offensive lineman Carver Willis are also set to showcase their skills at the combine. The Huskies are certainly making their mark.
