Tennessee just landed one of the biggest recruiting flips in the 2027 cycle, and Rivals put the move right near the top of its list.
The Vols pulled Kesean Bowman away from Oregon, giving Josh Heupel and his staff another win on the trail. Bowman, a Brentwood Academy standout, is ranked as the No. 57 overall prospect in the nation by the 247Sports Composite. At 6-foot-1, he brings the kind of speed and burst that makes him a natural fit in Tennessee’s offense, and he has reportedly shut down his recruitment, which points to a firm commitment to the Vols.
Rivals highlighted the move on July 2, 2026, posting: “Biggest flips of the 2027 recruiting cycle🔄”
For Tennessee, this is another reminder that even in what has been called a “down” year for Heupel’s recruiting, the Vols are still capable of landing major talent. The 2027 class may not carry the same overall star power as some of Tennessee’s recent groups, but there is still plenty there for Knoxville to build around.
Bowman stands out because of what he does once the ball is in his hands. He is electric, fast, and dangerous in open space, the kind of receiver who can turn a routine touch into something bigger. That’s exactly why his flip matters.
When he backed off his Oregon pledge, Tennessee looked like the obvious landing spot. But recruiting rarely stays simple for long, and a big program with a strong NIL pitch can always change the picture.
Still, Bowman gives the Vols a major headliner. If Tennessee were to add David Gabriel-Georges, that would go a long way toward strengthening the class even more, but for now Bowman is the name that jumps off the page.
The wide receiver room in Knoxville is already shaping up nicely for the future. Tennessee has five-star receiver TK Keys, who was arguably one of the best wideouts in the 2026 class, plus four-star Knoxville Catholic standout Tyreek King and Bowman in the fold.
There’s more depth behind them, too. Braylon Staley is only a redshirt sophomore and could still be around for another season, while Mike Matthews also has the potential to remain in Knoxville beyond this year.
For Vols fans, Bowman is the kind of addition worth getting excited about. He has the tools to become part of a long line of Tennessee receivers who end up doing special things.

63 Days Until Kickoff Means Another Huskies Legacy Worth Remembering
With kickoff still 63 days away, the Huskies history lesson is a reminder that Washingtons football story has always been about more than Saturdays in the fall. The program has been shaped by players who left a mark in different ways, from Jeff Toews as a steady presence on the line to James Kirkpatrick and Ted Markov as part of the long chain of letter winners who helped build the foundation of the program.
Norm Dicks adds another layer to that legacy, showing how a Husky career can lead far beyond the field and into public life. And Markovs path, stretching back to the 1930s, is a good reminder of how deep Washingtons roots run, with each generation passing something forward to the next as the countdown to another season continues. Washingtons Early Quarterback Push Could Shape A Crucial In-State Battle
Washingtons recent recruiting momentum has given the program a stronger footing as it starts building toward the 2028 class, and the quarterback board is already taking shape. After landing a program-record 12th-ranked class in 2026 and following it with a 25th-ranked class in 2027, the Huskies have begun extending offers and lining up targets at the most important position on the field, including Donald Tabron II out of Detroit.
The more intriguing piece for Washington fans is the local angle, where the Huskies are in the mix for a Washington quarterback who has put together a strong high school career and is drawing real attention early in the cycle. His profile already has Washington listed as a warm team, which gives the Huskies a foothold in a battle that could matter well beyond one recruiting class if they can keep building on it. Washington Nears A Massive Recruiting Test At Cornerback
Washingtons recruiting board is about to get a lot clearer in a hurry, with four-star cornerback Censere Gaylord set to make his commitment decision on July 11. For a program still working to stack elite talent in the secondary, Gaylord has become one of the more important names on the board, and the timing gives the Huskies a chance to make a major move in a key position group.
Censere Gaylords choice is drawing plenty of attention because Washington has stayed firmly in the mix through the stretch run, even with his roots tied to the Southeast. The Huskies could also be waiting on another big announcement that day from four-star offensive lineman DaJohn Yarborough, which would make July 11 a potentially huge recruiting checkpoint in Seattle no matter how the cornerback race plays out.
