The Washington Huskies have set their sights on a promising addition to their 2027 recruiting class: Malakai Taufoou from Junipero Serra in San Mateo, California. This four-star safety is generating buzz, and for good reason. He’s set to visit the campus next weekend for Junior Day, with an official visit already scheduled for June 19th.
Taufoou shared his excitement about the upcoming visits, saying, "I'll be up for Junior Day on March 7th and 8th and then I will be up there for my official visit on June 19th." His connection with the coaching staff, particularly safeties coach Taylor Mays, is a key factor in his interest.
"I have got a strong relationship with the coaches and I really like what the program is all about up there. I'm looking forward to getting back up to meet with them again."
Having witnessed Washington's impressive victory over Illinois at Husky Stadium last season, Taufoou is eager to further develop his rapport with the team. His previous visit left a strong impression, and the Huskies are hopeful that these upcoming visits will solidify their standing in his recruitment. The potential addition of Taufoou could be a significant boost for Washington, adding depth and talent to their defensive lineup.
