Lincoln Mageo discusses his promising future in college football and the potential impact of joining the University of Washington's offensive line.

Inside the Recruitment of Lincoln Mageo: A Rising Star in the Trenches

Happy Saturday, Husky fans! The Washington Huskies recently hosted a wave of talent for their junior day, and among the standout visitors was three-star offensive lineman Lincoln Mageo from Oceanside High School in California. Rated as the 33rd best interior offensive lineman by 247Sports, Mageo is catching the eye of several top programs, with UW making a strong push to secure his commitment.

Mageo first caught the attention of the Huskies during his sophomore year, receiving an offer around spring ball. Reflecting on his experience with the program, Mageo shared, "Their program is great.

I visited last spring and had a chance to meet Coach Switz and Coach Fisch. I really loved how Coach Switz coaches up his line."

The relationship between Mageo and Coach Switzer seems to be a pivotal factor in his recruitment. "Coach Switz texts me a lot, and our relationship is really good," Mageo said. "Since last year, he’s made it clear that I’m an important piece to what they have going on."

When it comes to Mageo's role on the field, the Huskies have a versatile vision for him. "Coach Switz sees me playing up and down the line.

He’s seen me snap and is excited about that. He can see me being used at tackle, too, and guard," Mageo explained.

But UW isn't the only school vying for Mageo's talents. Utah, Texas, Ohio State, Michigan, UCLA, and Arizona are also in the mix.

As he prepares to narrow down his options after official visits, Mageo is looking for a program that will develop him for the next level. "I want coaches who have good relationships with players and look out for them beyond football.

A program where coaches actually teach, not just coach," he emphasized.

Describing himself as a player, Mageo said, "I’m a well-rounded player. I’m a thinker on the field, aggressive, and I play with confidence. I’m also very coachable and love learning new ways to block or break down a defense."

As Mageo continues his recruitment journey, the Huskies are certainly hoping to make a lasting impression on this promising talent. Keep an eye on this space as we follow his decision-making process and potential impact on the future of college football.
