Huskies Target Promising Out Of State Linemen For 2027 Rebuild

As the Huskies gear up for 2026, their coaching staff is casting a wide net across the West to secure key out-of-state offensive line talent for the future.

Huskies Make the Cut for Trio of Key 2027 Offensive Line Recruits

Happy Super Bowl Sunday, Dawg fans. While the 2026 recruiting class is officially in the books, the Washington Huskies coaching staff isn’t taking its foot off the gas.

With spring ball on the horizon and roster development in full swing, the staff is also grinding behind the scenes to build out a strong 2027 class. And this week brought some encouraging news on that front, particularly in the trenches.

Three key offensive line targets trimmed their lists-and in each case, the Huskies are still standing.

Reis Russell (Valor Christian HS, CO) - Interior Offensive Line

Let’s start with Reis Russell, a 3-star lineman out of Colorado who just narrowed his recruitment to six schools: Florida, Georgia, Oregon, Miami, SMU, and Washington. The Huskies have been in on Russell for a while now, and that early investment appears to be paying off.

Russell is rated as the No. 43 interior offensive lineman in the country, and he brings a college-ready frame at 6-foot-3, 290 pounds. He projects as a guard or center at the next level, and his physicality and technique suggest he could compete for early playing time wherever he lands.

While programs like Georgia and Miami have recently jumped into the mix with offers, Washington’s long-standing pursuit gives them a real shot here. An official visit to Montlake is likely on the horizon, and the Huskies figure to be in this one all the way to the finish line.

Dajohn Yarborough (Basha HS, AZ) - Interior Offensive Line

Next up is Dajohn Yarborough, another 3-star interior lineman who’s built like a Sunday starter. At 6-foot-5 and roughly 330 pounds, Yarborough is a mountain of a man with the kind of size and strength that college coaches love to mold.

He just cut his list to 10, and Washington is firmly in the mix alongside Alabama, Arizona State, Cal, Florida State, Kansas State, Minnesota, UCF, UCLA, and Wisconsin. That’s some serious competition, but the Huskies are in a strong position here.

Notably, Yarborough has only one official visit scheduled so far-and it’s to Seattle, for the weekend of June 19. That’s a big sign of mutual interest, and it gives the Huskies a prime opportunity to make a lasting impression.

Benjamin Lowther (Centennial HS, AZ) - Offensive Tackle

The third name to watch is Benjamin Lowther, a towering offensive tackle out of Arizona who just trimmed his list as well. Washington made the cut alongside Arizona, Arizona State, Cal, Duke, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota, Stanford, and Texas A&M.

Lowther checks in at 6-foot-7 and around 320 pounds, with the kind of length and mobility that fits perfectly in Washington’s offensive scheme. He’s rated as the No. 35 offensive tackle nationally by 247Sports, and his upside is significant.

With his size, footwork, and frame, Lowther has the tools to become a cornerstone tackle at the next level-and the Huskies are one of the frontrunners to land him.

What’s Next: Junior Day on Deck

Looking ahead, Washington is gearing up for a key recruiting weekend on March 7-8, when they’ll host several top 2027 targets for Junior Day. While the full list of attendees hasn’t been finalized, expect some of these names-and likely a few surprises-to be on campus.

This is the time of year when relationships built over months start to pay dividends. For a program looking to maintain its momentum and build a dominant offensive line pipeline, landing even one or two of these prospects would be a big step forward.

Stay tuned-recruiting season is just heating up.
