Dante Moore is back for another run at Oregon, but one PFF metric has him looking up at a rival quarterback in the Big Ten.
The Ducks quarterback was ranked No. 13 among 18 projected Big Ten starters in under-pressure grading released by the Big Ten Huddle, with a 47.2 mark. At the top of that list sat Washington’s Demond Williams Jr., who posted a 69.1 grade when pressured.
Williams’ 2025 season showed plenty of production and movement outside the pocket. He threw for 3,065 yards with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions, added 611 rushing yards and six scores, and was sacked 31 times.
Moore’s numbers were stronger in the box score overall: 3,565 passing yards, 30 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, plus 156 rushing yards and two touchdowns. He also earned Third-team All-Big Ten honors and was sacked 17 times.
The pressure issue, though, lines up with Oregon’s roughest moments. In the Ducks’ two losses to Indiana, Moore was taken down nine times and committed five total turnovers.
Moore’s path to this season has already had a few turns. He started all 15 games for Oregon in 2025 and helped push the Ducks to the College Football Playoff semifinal.
After that season, there was uncertainty about whether he would return or enter the 2026 NFL Draft, where he was projected as an early first-round pick. Instead, he came back to Eugene and will play this year as a redshirt junior.
His college career began at UCLA in 2023, when he arrived as a five-star recruit in the class. He played in nine games as a true freshman, throwing 11 touchdown passes and nine interceptions before transferring to Oregon after that season. In 2024, he sat behind Dillon Gabriel and used his redshirt year.
Moore still has eligibility left, but if he’s again projected as an early first-round NFL pick in 2027, another jump to the pros would be hard to avoid.
With Moore returning, Oregon enters the season among the national title favorites. DraftKings Sportsbook has the Ducks tied with Indiana for fourth-best odds at +800, behind Ohio State at +600.
