Washington is getting a crack at one of the top names in the 2027 class.
Five-star power forward Ahmed Nur is scheduled to take an official visit to Montlake from Sept. 6-8, giving the Huskies a chance to make their pitch to the 6-foot-10 frontcourt prospect. Nur’s trip to Seattle will come after stops at Ole Miss from Aug. 22-24 and Syracuse from Aug. 28-30.
For now, Nur appears to be keeping the field wide open. 247Sports lists Ole Miss as the only program he is “warm” on, while On3 Sports gives Purdue the best odds to land him at 25.5%. Ole Miss follows at 22.4%, Syracuse sits at 19.2% and Washington is fourth at 16%.
The visit is an important one for a Huskies program trying to make a stronger showing with the 2027 cycle than it did in 2026. Washington landed only one commitment from that class, three-star small forward Lattimore Ford.
That said, Danny Sprinkle’s staff has had plenty of success on the recruiting trail since he arrived ahead of the 2024-25 season. Before his first year, Washington landed Tacoma native Zoom Diallo, though he transferred to the Kentucky Wildcats after this season. Ahead of last season, the Huskies also brought in four-stars JJ Mandaquit, Courtland Muldrew and Jasir Rencher, all top-104 players.
Mandaquit transferred to the Arizona Wildcats this offseason, and Muldrew moved on to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Rencher is set to return this season after dealing with a season-ending heart condition that required a procedure.
Washington has also leaned heavily into international recruiting to help fill out the roster. Three of the Huskies’ 14 committed players are international, and the staff could still add Slovenian guard Urban Kroflic this offseason.
The program has built a steady multi-national pipeline under Sprinkle, but landing more of its targets in the 2027 class would ease some of that pressure going forward.

Danny Sprinkle Makes Another Overseas Push With Washington Still Not Finished
Danny Sprinkles offseason has already taken him well beyond the usual summer recruiting map, and the Washington coach is still chasing pieces for a roster that is coming together with a distinctly international flavor. The Huskies have been active in building toward the 2026-27 season, and the latest stop has Sprinkle overseas as he looks to add another guard who could fit into a lineup that already includes several foreign-born players.
Washington still has an open roster spot, which gives Sprinkle some flexibility as he sorts out the final pieces, and the interest abroad underscores how much this staff is willing to lean on the global market. The player at the center of this trip is in the middle of a major summer stage with Slovenia, and his combination of size and versatility makes him the kind of option that could help the Huskies in more than one way if the pursuit pays off. Dante Moore Just Weighed In On Auburn's Place In Rivalry History
Dante Moores latest take on college footballs rivalry ladder is the kind of thing that will always land in the Pacific Northwest, because Oregon and Washington have spent years turning their meetings into a season-defining event. The Ducks quarterback, now one of the faces of EA Sports College Football 2027, put Alabama-Auburn and Michigan-Ohio State at the top of his list, but he also made clear that Oregon-Washington belongs in that same conversation for the way it has shaped both programs and the atmosphere around the matchup.
For Washington fans, the reminder stings a little more because Moore has already felt the edge of it firsthand. He helped lead Oregon to a win over the Huskies in Seattle last season, a result that only added to the rivalrys recent history and reinforced why every meeting seems to carry a little more weight than the last. Even when the conversation starts with the sports oldest grudges, Oregon and Washington keep finding a way to stay in the frame. [Read more 🡒]
