Rodney Harrison Appears to Be Okay After Odd On-Air Moment During ‘Sunday Night Football’
Rodney Harrison gave NFL fans a bit of a scare during the pregame segment of NBC’s Sunday Night Football broadcast, but thankfully, all signs point to the former All-Pro safety being just fine.
The moment came ahead of the matchup between the Denver Broncos and Washington Commanders. As the NBC crew broke down the game, Harrison joined Jac Collinsworth and Tony Dungy for their usual pregame analysis. But it quickly became clear that something was off.
Dungy tried to bring Harrison into the conversation, but Harrison appeared to struggle with his words. He paused, admitted he’d forgotten the question, and eventually stopped mid-thought. Collinsworth stepped in to help, but even then, Harrison seemed flustered, saying, “It’s a lot of stuff going on, I’m sorry guys,” before managing a brief take on Washington’s defense: “They don’t have a lot of discipline on the defensive side of the ball … that’s it.”
It was a strange moment - one that didn’t go unnoticed by viewers. Social media lit up with concern, with fans speculating whether Harrison might have been dealing with a medical issue or possibly something as simple as a technical glitch with his audio feed. Whatever the cause, it was enough to raise eyebrows.
But here’s the good news: Harrison returned to the desk after the game and looked much more like himself. He conducted a postgame interview with Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain and seemed composed and fully engaged, offering no signs of lingering issues from earlier in the evening.
The game itself was a thriller - a 27-26 overtime finish that gave fans plenty to talk about - but Harrison’s brief on-air stumble was one of the night’s more unexpected moments.
While we may never know exactly what happened during that pregame segment, what matters most is that Harrison appeared healthy and back in form by the end of the broadcast. For now, fans can breathe a sigh of relief.
