Rachaad White Joins Commanders in Exciting New One-Year Deal

Running back Rachaad White, known for his dual-threat capabilities and improved ball security, makes a fresh start with the Washington Commanders on a one-year deal.

Rachaad White is set to bring his dual-threat prowess to the Washington Commanders, having inked a one-year deal that could be a game-changer for both parties. Known for his versatility as both a runner and a receiver, White has carved out a reputation as a dynamic force on the field.

Ranked as the No. 4 free-agent running back and 68th overall in a top 150 list, White's potential is undeniable. Over four seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he amassed an impressive 4,106 yards from scrimmage. He’s one of only two players in Bucs history to achieve double-digit touchdowns in both rushing (14) and receiving (11) categories.

A notable improvement in White's game came in 2025 when he addressed his ball security issues. After struggling with fumbles in his first three seasons, he turned things around with zero fumbles and no dropped passes on 42 targets. Although his rushing attempts decreased to 132 carries for 572 yards, his efficiency remained high, tying a career-best average of 4.3 yards per carry.

Drafted in the third round by the Buccaneers in 2022 out of Arizona State, White's peak performance came in 2023. That year, he started all 17 games, posting career highs across the board with 272 carries, 990 rushing yards, 64 receptions, 549 receiving yards, and nine total touchdowns.

As he joins the Commanders, White's ability to contribute in multiple facets of the game will be invaluable. Fans can look forward to seeing how his skill set will enhance the team's offensive strategy in the upcoming season.
