Jaguars Set for Double Duty in London in 2026
The Jacksonville Jaguars are gearing up to take on a unique challenge in 2026, hosting not one but two home games across the pond in London. This move comes as part of a major renovation project for their home base, the "Stadium of the Future."
Head Coach Liam Coen, who experienced London for the first time last season, expressed his excitement about the team’s extended presence overseas. "London is undoubtedly our home away from home," Coen shared. "Our fan base there is passionate and growing, and we're thrilled to engage with fans throughout the UK."
The Jaguars will face off against opponents at both Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Wembley Stadium. Joining them in London will be the Washington Commanders, adding to the excitement of the NFL's international series.
Henry Hodgson, NFL U.K. & Ireland General Manager, emphasized the significance of these games. "The NFL London games are a cornerstone for engaging and expanding our fan base in the UK and beyond," he said.
The 2026 season will feature a record nine international games, spanning four continents, seven countries, and eight stadiums, showcasing the NFL's global reach.
Navigating Renovations and Future Plans
As the Jaguars prepare for the stadium renovations, they have the flexibility to host up to two games in London in 2026, with the potential for three in 2027. During this period, EverBank Stadium will operate with a reduced capacity, accommodating around 43,000-43,500 fans.
While Orlando is a likely temporary home in 2027, official announcements are yet to be made. The team may choose to play additional games in London to balance the schedule.
The Jaguars' previous London agreement with the NFL expired after the 2025 season, but expectations are high for an extension, allowing them to maintain their strong presence overseas.
A Rich London Legacy
The Jaguars have a well-established history in London, regularly hosting games at Wembley Stadium and occasionally playing at Tottenham. This arrangement has granted them exclusive marketing rights in the UK and allowed them to retain all revenue from their Wembley games.
Since 2013, the Jaguars have built a 7-7 record in London, with a mix of successes and challenges. Last season, they hosted the Los Angeles Rams at Wembley, suffering a tough 35-7 loss. However, they bounced back impressively, winning nine of their last ten games and clinching the AFC South title with a 13-4 record.
Looking Ahead
In 2026, the Jaguars' home opponents will include the Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Washington Commanders, and New England Patriots. With a strong lineup and the excitement of London games, the Jaguars are poised to make waves both at home and abroad.
