Chris Moore is heading back to where his NFL career started.
The veteran wide receiver signed a one-year deal with the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday, a move that comes as training camps begin to open across the league. For Moore, it’s a reunion with the team that drafted him in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft and gave him his first five seasons in the pros.
Moore spent last season with the Washington Commanders, appearing in 14 games and making five starts. He finished with 11 catches for 207 yards and a touchdown, but Washington did not bring him back after his contract expired.
His time in Baltimore from 2016 through 2020 was his longest run with any team. In 61 games with the Ravens, Moore made five starts and totaled 47 receptions for 511 yards and four touchdowns.
After leaving Baltimore, Moore bounced around the league. He played two seasons with the Houston Texans, then one year with the Tennessee Titans.
He opened the 2024 season with the Arizona Cardinals, but was released in November after appearing in five games. Washington added him to its practice squad in December.
Moore re-signed with the Commanders in January, though he was waived during final cuts last August and then brought back to the practice squad. He ended up seeing more action than expected because of Washington’s injuries and thin depth at receiver.
Washington also made several moves at the position this offseason, bringing back Dyami Brown after one season in Jacksonville, signing veteran Van Jefferson, re-signing Treylon Burks and using a third-round pick on Antonio Williams.

Commanders Lose Trusted Veteran At Worst Possible Time For Camp
A familiar piece of Washingtons special teams picture disappeared just as camp was about to get rolling, with linebacker Nick Bellore retiring after 15 NFL seasons. The Commanders moved him to the reserve/retired list as they made room for cornerback Rasul Douglas, a transaction that underscores how quickly the roster can change at this point in the summer.
Bellore had spent the last two seasons in Washington and carved out a trusted role as one of the teams most reliable special teams players, handling a heavy workload in that phase of the game. His departure leaves the Commanders with a notable hole to address moving forward, and it comes at a time when every practice rep matters even more than usual. [Read more 🡒]
Commanders Have A Quiet QB Decision That Could Backfire Behind Jayden Daniels
Jayden Daniels is locked in as Washingtons starter, with Marcus Mariota set as the backup, so the only real quarterback question left in camp is the one at the bottom of the depth chart. Even so, it is a spot worth watching for a team trying to build a stable room around its young franchise passer, because the third quarterback can still matter when injuries, practice reps and weekly preparation start to pile up.
The decision comes down to who can settle into David Bloughs new offensive scheme and keep the ball out of harms way. Washington wants a developmental option it can trust, whether that means carrying him on the roster or trying to sneak him onto the practice squad, and the margin here is thin enough that a few clean practices or one rough stretch could swing the outcome.
