Cowboys Giants Make Key Draft Visit Moves

NFC teams are strategically planning their rosters with key draft visits and free-agent considerations, aiming to strengthen their squads ahead of the new season.

Commanders

The Washington Commanders are actively scouting talent, with Ohio State linebacker Sonny Styles set for a 30 visit. This is part of their broader strategy to bolster their roster with young talent.

Wide receiver Denzel Boston from Washington is also on their radar, scheduled for a similar visit. Meanwhile, Miami cornerback Keionte Scott has already had a formal Combine interview with the Commanders, indicating their interest in strengthening their secondary.

Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are making strategic moves in preparation for the upcoming season. Will McClay, their VP of player personnel, was notably present at Texas’ pro day, focusing on linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. The Cowboys are clearly doing their homework, having taken both Hill and linebacker Trey Moore out for dinner, suggesting serious interest.

Further emphasizing their commitment to building a strong team, Cowboys offensive line coach Klayton Adams had a dinner meeting with Auburn offensive lineman Jeremiah Wright. Ohio State's Sonny Styles also plans to visit Dallas, and Miami’s Keionte Scott has already made a visit. The Cowboys are also bringing in UCF edge rusher Nyjalik Kelly for a 30 visit, ensuring they cover all bases in their defensive lineup.

Giants

The New York Giants have taken a disciplined approach in free agency, strategically choosing not to overspend on their offensive line. After re-signing right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor and other key backups, they opted out of the race for Alijah Vera-Tucker, who joined the Patriots. Despite this, the Giants have crafted a more physical offensive identity with additions like tight end Isaiah Likely and fullback Patrick Ricard.

Addressing the need for a right guard, the Giants have several options in free agents Kevin Zeitler, Greg Van Roten, and Daniel Faalele, all of whom have connections to the team or new head coach John Harbaugh. The Giants might also consider drafting a guard, pairing a rookie with a veteran to ensure depth and readiness.

On the defensive side, the Giants are exploring options to complement Dexter Lawrence at tackle. Free agents like Shelby Harris, who recently visited, along with Calais Campbell and D.J.

Reader, are on their radar. Re-signing Rakeem Nunez-Roches remains a possibility.

In terms of cap space, the Giants might release kicker Graham Gano, freeing up $4.5 million. While trading EDGE Kayvon Thibodeaux could clear an additional $14.75 million, there’s no current indication of such a move. The Giants are clearly focused on building a balanced and competitive roster for the upcoming season.
