The Washington Commanders spent the offseason upgrading several spots on the roster, but wide receiver still looks like the one room that hasn’t clearly taken a step forward.
Running back, tight end, edge rusher and linebacker all got noticeable boosts. Receiver, though, is a different story.
Deebo Samuel, who led the team in receiving in 2026, was not re-signed, and the only notable free-agent additions were Dyami Brown and Van Jefferson. Rookie Antonio Williams brings some intrigue, but leaning on a third-round rookie right away is hardly the ideal setup.
That’s why the Commanders have been connected to veteran names such as Brandon Aiyuk and Stefon Diggs. But there’s another possibility already in the building: undrafted free agent Jaden Bradley.
Bradley joined Washington shortly after going undrafted this year, and he arrives with a solid final season at UNLV on his résumé. In 2025, he caught 58 passes for 931 yards and four touchdowns.
He also fits the kind of profile that can sneak onto a roster when a position group is unsettled. Bradley has good size and speed, and he reportedly made a few nice grabs during the offseason program while showing strong hands. He’s not a pure burner, but he moves well enough and uses his frame to win 50/50 balls.
The depth chart gives him a path, even if it’s a narrow one. Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown, Antonio Williams, Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane feel like the safest bets to make the team. That leaves the last spot in the mix with Van Jefferson and Treylon Burks.
Jefferson had a solid summer, but he’s 30 and not getting any better. Burks has struggled to stay healthy in the NFL and remains something of an unknown. That opens the door, at least a crack, for a younger, higher-upside option like Bradley.
It’s still a long shot. Bradley would need a huge camp and a strong preseason to crash the roster conversation. But in a receiver room that doesn’t look especially deep, it wouldn’t be shocking if the undrafted rookie outplays the more familiar names in front of him.
