Fanatics Fest 2026 turned into a draft room with a Disney twist, as the NFL, Disney and Champion rolled out a first-of-its-kind collection pairing all 32 teams with characters from Disney, Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar.
The collaboration was built around each team’s identity, with the pairings developed through what the event described as a creative “drafting” process. The goal was to make the matches feel authentic, using team history, city ties and overall spirit to line up each franchise with a character whose personality fit naturally.
At Fanatics Fest in New York City’s Javits Center, the first eight team pairings were unveiled on stage by Taylor Rooks and Roger Goodell. A ninth team, the Eagles with Dr. Doom, was also revealed in the Disney Fan Zone area.
Some of the matches were easy to see. The Cowboys landed Woody from Toy Story, while the Jets were paired with Buzz Lightyear.
Asked about the thinking behind those choices, Bret Healey, Director of Graphic Design at Disney Consumer Products, said, "Even with those matchups I wanted there to be a second story to them... The Jets are tied back and were founded during the kickoff of the space age".
The Bills were matched with Beast from Disney because of his raw strength and duality, along with what the event described as an intense bond and loyal edge shared by Bills fans and the character.
The Giants drew Wreck-It Ralph, a pairing built around being big, bold and unstoppable. The Raiders got Darth Vader, with Tom Brady and Fernando Mendoza joining Roger Goodell on stage to announce the pick. The reasoning centered on the Raiders’ power and presence, along with Vader’s edge and mystique.
The Patriots were matched with Marvel’s Captain America in what was described as a futuristic take on an enduring symbol of leadership and patriotism. The Buccaneers paired with Captain Hook, connecting a pirate legacy with attitude. The Commanders selected Disney and Pixar’s Hamm, a nod to "The Hogs", Washington’s linemen from the 1980s.
The launch also fits into Disney and ESPN’s "Year of the Super Bowl," a yearlong build toward ESPN’s first Super Bowl production in February.
The rest of the team reveal will roll out online in August, with more product drops and fan experiences planned throughout the 2026 season and beyond.

Josh Conerly Jr. arrived in Washington as a first-round pick with the kind of expectations that come with protecting a young quarterback, and he answered the call by starting every game at right tackle in his rookie season. He handled more than 1,000 snaps, giving the Commanders a long look at a player they believe can grow into a foundational piece on the offensive line around Jayden Daniels.
The early returns still left plenty for Conerly to clean up, especially in pass protection and discipline, but the trajectory matters here as much as the raw rookie growing pains. Washington and Laremy Tunsil both sound encouraged by the way Conerly finished the year, which is why his development has become one of the more important subplots for a team trying to build real stability in front of Daniels.
