Brandon Aiyuk’s latest social media flare-up has turned into a full-blown headache, and Jayden Daniels’ fans made sure he heard about it.
What started as an unrelated Instagram post from Aiyuk quickly became a target for angry reactions after he took a shot at Daniels’ mother. Coach Yac highlighted a collection of those responses on X Sunday, and plenty of them made it clear that Daniels’ supporters were not letting it slide.
Some replies came with jokes, but others carried a sharper edge in defense of the Commanders quarterback, who is on a $37.74 million contract, according to Spotrac.
“Don't talk to JD5 like that again,” one posted.
“How you gonna be a cancer to the commanders locker room alread when you not even apart of the team?” another joked.
“Go and talk to Kyle (Shanahan) and John (Lynch) like a man,” one replied.
Other comments took a more serious turn.
“'How to get canned in the NFL for life in 30 days,'” another posted.
“Most commanders fans was on board to sign you but coming at (Jayden Daniels) your cooked,” one argued.
“Better not see yo a** inna dmv lil bra,” another warned.
The backlash comes with Aiyuk entering the final season of his contract, a stretch that puts the 49ers in a position where moving on from him would make financial sense. The expectation around the league is that San Francisco would rather trade him than cut him loose.
Even with the noise around him, Aiyuk would still draw interest if the price is right. In a league that never stops hunting for receiver help, there are teams that could at least take a look.
The Miami Dolphins stand out as one possible fit. They’ve put themselves on a timeline that may not pay off for another two seasons, and Aiyuk could give their receiver room a real boost while creating a clearer path for Malik Washington, who is currently projected to be the team’s top receiver after finishing as the third string in 2025.
The New York Giants also come up as a team with room for a player like Aiyuk. Malik Nabers is still trying to put everything together, Cam Skattebo’s health is a question, and Jaxson Dart would need help rounding out the offense.
The New York Jets are another possible landing spot, where Aiyuk could line up alongside Garrett Wilson. If Geno Smith is going to make it work in his second stint with the team, he’ll need plenty of support. In that scenario, the Jets could suddenly have a receiver group that commands attention across the league - but only if they decide to make the call.

Commanders Just Made A Quiet Move Their Secondary Desperately Needed
The Commanders have been looking for ways to shore up a secondary that needed more reliable depth, and they found a veteran answer in Rasul Douglas. Washington added the cornerback on a one-year deal as it starts building toward the 2026 season, a quiet move that fits a team trying to add experience without making a splashy overhaul.
Douglas brings a long track record and plenty of recent movement, having played for three different teams over the last three seasons. He also arrives with a reputation for steady production, giving Washington another proven option as it sorts out the back end of its defense and waits to see how the rest of the market shakes out. Commanders Finally Put That Cornerback Rumor To Rest
Washington spent the offseason sorting through its cornerback options, and the answer it landed on was a familiar kind of veteran stability. Rather than chase a reunion with Trevon Diggs, the Commanders added Rasul Douglas on a one-year deal and moved forward with a group they believe better fits their plans on the back end.
Diggs is still on the market, but the bigger point for Washington is that Adam Peters and Dan Quinn clearly did not see him as the right swing to take right now. After leaving Dallas, he has not recaptured the same impact that once made him such an intriguing name, and the Commanders chose to address the position without waiting around for that version to reappear. Commanders May Already Have Aiyuk Backup Plan For Jayden Daniels
Washington has been doing its homework on ways to upgrade Jayden Daniels supporting cast, and the receiver market has already started to look more like a contingency board than a single-track pursuit. With Brandon Aiyuk appearing unlikely to land in the nations capital, the Commanders are at least kicking around other veteran names who could help stabilize the room and give Daniels another proven target.
DeAndre Hopkins has emerged as one of the more practical fallback ideas, the kind of low-risk addition that could bring depth and a steadying presence without forcing the offense to revolve around him. Stefon Diggs and Deebo Samuel Sr. have also been mentioned as possible options, but Hopkins stands out as a free-agent fit who could be pursued before training camp if Washington decides it wants more experience around its young quarterback.
