Brandon Aiyuk is still making noise online, and this time he put Jayden Daniels right in the middle of it.
The San Francisco 49ers wide receiver, who has already drawn attention for his social media activity, resurfaced on Wednesday with a new message about his good friend, the Washington Commanders quarterback. That came after last weekend’s outburst, when Aiyuk aimed a blunt rant at Daniels and left plenty of people stunned.
“You’re on my team now," Aiyuk said last weekend. "You follow my rules.
Boy, I’m a grown a-- man. You’re gonna have to start running behind your momma, and I might believe what you’re talking about, but until then, uh-uh."
The reaction was immediate, and some Washington fans even convinced themselves that Aiyuk and Daniels were somehow working together to troll the NFL world. Others tried to spin it as a move designed to help Aiyuk force his release from the 49ers.
Aiyuk didn’t exactly quiet that chatter on Wednesday. Speaking on Instagram, he said Daniels responded to him with a clear message.
"He said, 'I don’t do that internet s--t, Bro,'" Aiyuk said on Instagram, referring to Daniels. "'Hit my phone if you gotta talk to me.
You got my number.' I called, and he didn’t answer."
And Aiyuk wasn’t done there. He also made it plain that if he lands another NFL job, the social media act is not going away.
"I’m still gonna be on my bullshit on social media," he said.
For anyone hoping the last few weeks had changed him, Wednesday suggested otherwise.
