UNC Heartbroken Over Bill Belichick-Jordon Hudson News

Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson's relationship has come to an amicable end, as the duo continues to focus on their professional collaborations amid a turbulent football season.

Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson have reportedly ended their relationship, closing the book on a romance that drew constant attention well beyond Chapel Hill.

TMZ Sports reported that sources close to Hudson confirmed the split, saying the North Carolina Tar Heels coach and his 25-year-old girlfriend quietly broke up late last year. Even so, the two are still said to be on friendly terms and committed to keeping their business arrangements intact.

The breakup apparently stayed out of view for months. Belichick and Hudson continued appearing together in public this year, and Hudson was on the sideline supporting him during UNC’s home game against Syracuse just last week.

Hudson has been less present around the Tar Heels football program this season than she was a year ago, though she has still shown up for several games, including matchups with Notre Dame and East Tennessee State. She also accompanied Belichick to a high school football game in late September.

Their relationship began after the two met on a flight in February 2021 and started dating in 2022. It became public in June 2024, and the 49-year age gap quickly made it one of the most talked-about pairings in sports.

The romance also sparked controversy in April 2025, when Hudson interrupted Belichick during a CBS Sunday Morning interview about how they met. Belichick later defended her, saying the interview had been edited in a way that created a misleading impression.

Meanwhile, Belichick’s second season in Chapel Hill has come with plenty of turbulence. UNC general manager Michael Lombardi resigned in September amid an internal investigation, and Belichick’s son, Steve, later announced he was leaving his role as defensive coordinator while on medical leave.

The Tar Heels are 4-3 in Belichick’s second season after a 4-8 debut.

Wake Forest Tips Off With Bigger Questions Than Just Opening Night

Wake Forests basketball season arrives with more than the usual opening-night buzz, because the questions around the program go well beyond wins and losses. The men are trying to move past the worst season of Steve Forbes tenure, while the women are also entering a year shaped by recent NCAA tournament frustration and the reality that both programs have not been able to turn consistency into sustained March success.

What makes the backdrop even more uneasy is the financial gap around the basketball operation, with reports suggesting Wake Forest is working with far less funding than many of its ACC peers. In a league where roster building and retention can define the difference between staying relevant and falling behind, that kind of disadvantage hangs over both programs as they try to prove they can compete at a higher level.
