Virginia Tech’s look for Week 3 is locked in, and the Hokies are rolling out the full white setup against Maryland: white helmet, white jerseys and white pants.
That combination has been a mixed bag over the years, but Virginia Tech has plenty of history in it. The Hokies are 20-12 all-time in all white, and the most recent game in that uniform came against Virginia on November 29, 2025. In the 2020s, Virginia Tech has split its results at 4-4 while wearing it, using the look once per season from 2022 through 2024 before bringing it out twice in 2025.
If the Hokies use all white at least two more times this season, it would mark the first time since 2021 that they’ve worn it in three or more games. That year, Virginia Tech went 3-0 in the look.
This season’s two all-white outings have already produced very different outcomes. Virginia Tech lost 27-7 to Virginia to end its season, then bounced back with a 38-6 win over Wofford on Sept.
- Before that Wofford game, the Hokies had dropped three straight in all-white uniforms, with two of those losses coming by one score.
The stretch included a 38-31 overtime loss to Syracuse in 2024, a 35-16 defeat to Rutgers in 2023 and a 22-21 loss to NC State on Oct. 27, 2022.
The 2021 season remains the high point for the look in recent years. Virginia Tech wore all white three times and won every game, starting with a 35-14 victory over Middle Tennessee on Sept.

A win would give the Hokies their first 3-0 start since 2017 and their first non-conference Power Four victory since that same season. Since then, Virginia Tech has lost 15 straight games against Power Four non-conference opponents.
