Virginia took a different approach to its latest uniform reveal ahead of Saturday’s 6 p.m. matchup with Delaware.
After using current players Dakota Twitty, Xavier Brown and Jacobie Henderson in the first three videos, the Cavaliers shifted the spotlight to the patches honoring Lavel Davis Jr., Devin Chandler and D'Sean Perry for game four.
The look itself is blue helmets, blue jerseys and white pants for the home game against the Blue Hens.
That blue-blue-white combination has been out of circulation for a while, at least by Virginia’s recent standards. Excluding throwbacks, the Cavaliers last wore it on Sept. 15, 2025, in a 55-16 win over William & Mary at Scott Stadium, which was last year’s UVA Strong Day. Before that, the most recent instance came on Oct. 26, 2024, in a loss to North Carolina.
Virginia enters this one trying to get back on track after last week’s lopsided defeat, though the performance still had some solid pieces. The Cavaliers scored 27 points, and there was more on the table with a missed field goal and a later failed conversion. The rough spots were there too - some stalled drives and defensive lapses - but the overall showing was still decent enough to suggest the offense didn’t completely vanish.
For Delaware to turn this into a real test, the Blue Hens would need to lean into the same kind of approach West Virginia used: challenge Virginia’s defensive backs, create pressure and confusion, and get the quarterback moving with his legs. On paper, there’s at least one reason to think they can make some noise. Delaware is averaging 325.7 passing yards per game, which ranks 11th nationally.
Even so, the bigger picture points toward Virginia. The Cavaliers are giving up just 150 passing yards per game, good for second in the ACC and 19th nationally. Something has to give, and with Virginia at home, playing on UVA Strong Day and looking for a bounce-back, the numbers favor the Cavaliers to win by multiple scores.
The game will air on ACC Network, giving Virginia its second straight appearance on the channel. The Cavaliers will have been on either ESPN or ACC Network in four of their first five games, with the possibility of more.

Virginia Needs More From These 3 Playmakers Against Delaware
Virginias offense hit a speed bump against West Virginia, managing 27 points after spending the early part of the season piling up 47 points a game. Now the Cavaliers turn to Delaware with a need to get back on track, and a few familiar names look especially important to that effort. The backfield has been a steady source of production, a receiver is getting back into the mix after his injury layoff, and the quarterback still found a way to throw for a season-best 197 yards despite a difficult night.
If Virginia is going to look more like the group it was earlier in the year, it likely needs more from those playmakers on Saturday. The offense does not have to be perfect, but it does need a cleaner rhythm and more consistent chunk plays, especially with a defense that should give the Cavaliers a chance to reset.
