Golden Knights Just Made Two Depth Moves Fans Cant Ignore

Exploring strategic moves in free agency, the Golden Knights bolster their roster depth, aiming to maintain their competitive edge in the Stanley Cup race.

The Golden Knights added a pair of depth pieces on Wednesday, bringing back familiar names who can help both in Henderson and, if needed, in Vegas.

Tanner Laczynski landed a three-year deal worth $900,000 AAV. The contract is entirely one-way, giving the Golden Knights another forward option with some offensive pop.

Jonas Rondbjerg is also back with the organization on a one-year, two-way deal that carries an $850,000 AAV. The Danish forward’s agreement was reported as $850K NHL, $400K minors and $425K guaranteed.

These are the kind of moves that usually matter most below the radar. Laczynski and Rondbjerg have been valuable for the Silver Knights, where both have provided veteran presence and depth, while also standing by as call-up options if injuries hit the NHL roster.

Laczynski brings a strong scoring line from last season, when he put up 22 goals and 42 assists in 62 games with the Silver Knights. He also chipped in five assists in 10 games with the Golden Knights.

Rondbjerg, listed as the Assistant Captain, had 13 goals and 13 assists in 43 games with the Silver Knights. He added an assist in four games with the Golden Knights and filled a lower-line role when the team was short-handed.

None of this carries the same weight as the club’s other recent business, including the seven-year extension for Rasmus Andersson. But forward depth is never a bad thing, and Vegas now has two more experienced options it can lean on if the situation gets tight.

Golden Knights Reunion Could Finally Answer Their Wing Scoring Problem

The Golden Knights have been looking for more forward depth on the wing, and a familiar name is suddenly back in the conversation. According to TSNs Darren Dreger, Vegas is expected to add Victor Olofsson, a player who already knows the organization and arrives with a track record that fits what the club has been trying to shore up.

Olofsson split last season between Colorado and Calgary, finishing with 13 goals and 18 assists, and he has long carried the kind of shot that can help a power play find a little more bite. His previous run in Vegas showed he can provide useful scoring from the flank, which is exactly why this reunion makes so much sense for a team still searching for answers on the wing. [Read more 🡒]

Golden Knights Just Made Another Win Now Blue Line Move

Jeremy Lauzon is the latest defenseman to get the long view from Vegas, with the Golden Knights locking him up on a six-year extension as they keep shaping the blue line around both present-day needs and the realities of the salary cap. The move fits the pattern for a franchise that has never been shy about making aggressive roster decisions, especially when the goal is staying in the mix as a perennial Stanley Cup threat.

The cap math matters here, because every addition has to fit into a carefully managed structure, and Vegas has been willing to keep searching for ways to add stability without losing flexibility. Lauzons deal gives the Knights another piece to plan around, while the latest trade business shows they are still working the market with a clear eye on how to balance depth, cost, and the kind of back-end help contenders usually need.
