Golden Knights Extend Streak After Pouring In Goals Against Predators

The Golden Knights high-powered offense and standout performances pushed their win streak to a season-best seven games in a dominant showing over Nashville.

Golden Knights Keep Rolling, Dominate Predators 7-2 for Seventh Straight Win

The Vegas Golden Knights are heating up, and Saturday night at T-Mobile Arena, they turned up the temperature even higher. With a 7-2 dismantling of the Nashville Predators, the Golden Knights extended their winning streak to seven games - their longest run of the season - and sent a clear message: this team is starting to look like the contender everyone expected.

Fast Start, Stronger Finish

Nashville got on the board first, with Luke Evangelista tipping in a Roman Josi shot midway through the opening frame. But that early lead didn’t rattle Vegas - it only seemed to wake them up.

Late in the second period, Vegas flipped the script. Alexander Holtz fired a shot from the point that took a fortunate bounce off a Nashville defender and beat Justus Annunen to tie things up.

Just over a minute later, Shea Theodore let one rip from the top of the right circle, threading it through traffic for the go-ahead goal. From that point on, it was all Golden Knights.

Third Period Avalanche

Vegas came out flying in the third, and the Predators simply couldn’t keep up. Pavel Dorofeyev, who’s been on a tear lately, finished off a slick odd-man rush just under six minutes into the period. The play started with a takeaway by Mitch Marner in the neutral zone - one of several moments where Vegas turned defense into instant offense.

Mark Stone followed up less than three minutes later, finishing off a beauty of a rush started by Jack Eichel. Stone found open ice at the far post and buried the feed to make it 4-1.

Then came the flood. Cole Reinhardt made it five unanswered goals, capping off a nice sequence with Tanner Laczynski and Holtz. Marner added another just moments later, finishing a crisp passing play from Reilly Smith, with goaltender Akira Schmid even getting in on the action with a secondary assist.

Keegan Kolesar wasn’t about to be left out of the fun - he added the seventh goal with just under five minutes to play, putting an exclamation point on a dominant third period that saw Vegas score five times.

Filip Forsberg managed to sneak one in for Nashville in the final minute, but by then, the game was long out of reach.

Stars of the Night

Shea Theodore earned first-star honors on a milestone night, picking up a goal and an assist in his 600th NHL game. He was steady on the blue line and dangerous in the offensive zone - exactly what you want from a veteran defenseman in a big moment.

Mitch Marner continued to find his groove in Vegas, notching a goal and an assist to extend his point streak to three games (2 goals, 3 assists). His impact goes beyond the scoresheet - his ability to create turnovers and transition quickly is giving the Golden Knights another layer offensively.

Pavel Dorofeyev hit the 20-goal mark on the season, leading the team and scoring for the fourth straight game. His emergence as a consistent finisher has added real depth to this Vegas attack.

Between the pipes, Akira Schmid turned away 27 of 29 shots and even picked up his third career assist. He’s now up to 15 wins on the season and continues to provide steady goaltending behind a confident team.

By the Numbers

  • Jack Eichel is riding an eight-game point streak (5 goals, 10 assists), including 10 points in his last four games. He’s been the engine behind Vegas’ offensive surge.
  • Mark Stone pushed his point streak to a career-best 11 games (10 goals, 8 assists). He’s playing some of the most complete hockey of his career.
  • Mitch Marner reached the 50-point mark with the Golden Knights in just 47 games - the fastest in franchise history.
  • Since January 6, Eichel (5G, 9A) and Stone (6G, 8A) lead the entire NHL in points.
  • Alexander Holtz recorded his second multi-point game of the season (1 goal, 1 assist), continuing to show flashes of high-end skill.
