The Vegas Golden Knights are leaning all the way into nostalgia for the first of their Season X Anniversary Knights.
The club said Wednesday it will celebrate “Welcome to Impossible Knight” presented by Circa Sports on Saturday, Oct. 10, when the Golden Knights host the Los Angeles Kings at T-Mobile Arena at 7 p.m. PT.
The night lands on the anniversary of the franchise’s first home game, played Oct. 10, 2017.
This one is built around the inaugural season, the year Vegas stunned the sport and became the most successful expansion team in professional sports history. It will also be the last time the Golden Knights wear the inaugural gray jerseys before those uniforms are retired from the rotation. Fans can expect Season I touches throughout the pregame and in-game presentation, and the first 10,000 fans will receive a commemorative puck, echoing the giveaway from that first home game in 2017.
The throwback weekend starts before puck drop. The Golden Knights have scheduled practice for Friday, Oct. 9 at 11:30 a.m.
PT at City National Arena, with members of the 2017-18 team set to meet fans and sign autographs. The team noted that practice is subject to change.
Saturday’s pregame festivities include Fan Fest, presented by Raising Cane’s, from 4 to 6 p.m. PT at Paramount+ Plaza.
Former members of the original team - Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, Oscar Dansk, Cody Eakin, Deryk Engelland, Brad Hunt, James Neal, Ryan Reaves - along with first head coach Gerard Gallant, will talk about the path from the 2017 Expansion Draft to the doorstep of a Stanley Cup. Fans will also be able to get autographs and have a chance to receive a jersey from former players in attendance.
Historical artifacts from the club’s inaugural season will be on display as well. Fan Fest is free and open to the public, and attendees can enter for a chance to win tickets to “Welcome to Impossible Knight.”
A limited number of tickets remain available. The next Anniversary Knight is “Vegas Born Knight,” which will honor Seasons II-V on Wednesday, Dec. 16 against the San Jose Sharks.

Golden Knights Still Carry A Powerful Bond With Las Vegas
For the Golden Knights, the connection to Las Vegas has long gone beyond the ice. Since 2018, the team has teamed with Vitalant eight times for blood drives that help support the local community, part of a broader effort to stay visible and useful in ways that matter off the scoreboard. Community members and organizations like the Honored 25 Foundation have also taken part, giving the events a wider reach and keeping the focus on service.
The teams commitment also extends to remembering the October 1 tragedy and the people still shaped by it. Along with supporting survivors and first responders, the Golden Knights have hosted a closed practice for local first responders and special guests, a quiet but meaningful gesture that reflects how closely the franchise remains tied to the citys recovery and resilience. Golden Knights Just Locked In One Of Their Cup-Era Cornerstones
William Karlsson has become one of the defining players of the Golden Knights Cup-era identity, and Vegas has now made sure he stays part of it for a while longer. The club signed the veteran forward to a two-year contract extension that runs through the 2028-29 season, keeping a familiar face in a lineup that has leaned on his versatility, two-way play and steady presence since the franchises inaugural 2017-18 season.
Karlssons track record in Vegas goes well beyond his role in the 2023 Stanley Cup run. He has appeared in 570 regular-season games for the Golden Knights and holds several franchise records, a reminder of how deeply he has been woven into the organizations history. For a team that continues to balance present-day contention with long-term continuity, locking in one of its original cornerstones was an easy move to understand. [Read more 🡒]
