Ex-CFB Star Enters Rehab, Faces Disturbing Allegations

As Puka Nacua navigates serious allegations and ongoing rehab, his focus remains on personal growth amid looming contract decisions with the Rams.

Los Angeles Rams receiver Puka Nacua, a standout talent since his days at BYU, has entered rehab, according to his attorney, Levi McCathern. This move is part of Nacua's commitment to enhancing his personal and professional life.

This comes amid a civil lawsuit accusing Nacua of making an antisemitic remark and biting two women on New Year’s Eve, allegations that have been denied by McCathern. The accuser has withdrawn a request for a temporary restraining order but continues with the lawsuit.

McCathern highlighted that Nacua began rehab well before these allegations surfaced and plans to stay until he’s ready to return to the Rams in top form for the upcoming OTAs. “Puka is using this time constructively to ensure he can contribute positively to his team and the sport he loves,” McCathern stated.

Nacua has expressed gratitude for the support from his family, friends, Coach Sean McVay, and teammates during this challenging period. “It’s unfortunate that a trivial lawsuit has overshadowed Puka’s efforts to improve himself,” McCathern added.

Since being drafted in 2023, Nacua has become one of the NFL’s premier receivers, with 313 receptions, 4,191 yards, and 19 touchdowns. As he enters the final year of his rookie contract, his on-field performance suggests a lucrative extension could be on the horizon, though recent events have complicated negotiations.

Rams coach Sean McVay emphasized the importance of Nacua meeting both on-field and off-field expectations. “We’re hopeful this will be an opportunity for him to learn and grow,” McVay remarked. “We want him to be a Ram for a long time, and he understands the responsibilities that come with that.”
