Utah football is adding a new look to its helmets before the 2026 opener, with ALKEME Insurance set to sponsor the program’s equipment in a multi-year deal.
The agreement gives ALKEME’s logo a spot on the bumper of Utah’s helmets, another sign of how aggressively college athletics departments are leaning into sponsorships to bring in more money. Around the sport, those kinds of arrangements have become increasingly common, from ads on jerseys to logos on fields and courts.
Utah Athletics and ALKEME announced the partnership on Tuesday, and the deal also extends beyond the football team. ALKEME will work with the University of Utah’s David Eccles School of Business to create an internship program.
Mark Harlan, Utah’s director of athletics, called the partnership “a tremendous example of the impact that can be made when a partner that shares our values and our vision comes forward in a really creative way,” in a press release.
“It also speaks to the new opportunities that are emerging through the innovative approach of Crimson Brand Partners. Our student-athletes will benefit from the investment that ALKEME is making in our athletics programs, and the internship program will open doors for University of Utah students.”
Curtis Barton, ALKEME’s CEO, said in the release that “We look for partners who are genuinely pushing their industry forward, and Utah Athletics does exactly that,”
“As we continue growing our presence across Utah, there’s no better partner to stand alongside than a program that consistently sets the pace for what’s next in college athletics - both on the field and off it. We’re proud to be part of that ambition as Utah Athletics’ official insurance sponsor, and we’re excited about what this partnership means for our continued growth in the state.”

Whittingham Finally Addressed The Utah Accusations Fans Cant Ignore
Kyle Whittinghams name still carries plenty of weight around Utah, even now that hes at Michigan and preparing for a season opener against Western Michigan. Before the focus shifts fully to the new job, though, Whittingham took the opportunity to address long-running accusations from former Utah players that he put pressure on them to play through injuries, pushing back on the idea that he ever tried to influence medical staff decisions.
Whittingham also revisited how his time at Utah came to an end, framing his departure as a mutual decision and saying he did not want to overstay his welcome. For Utah fans, it adds another layer to a separation that has lingered in conversation, especially with the program still tied closely to his legacy and with questions about how those final years were remembered by the players who lived them. Noah Bennees Utah Return Means More Than A Familiar Reunion
Noah Bennees path back to Salt Lake City gives Utah a little more than a depth piece. After leaving for Weber State and taking a noticeable step forward there, the tight end returns to a program that already knows him well, only now with a different rsum and a better sense of what he can bring on the field. For the Utes, it is the kind of move that mixes familiarity with upside, especially at a position where development can take time.
Jackson Bennee makes the homecoming even more meaningful, with the brothers now getting the chance to line up together after Noahs years away. Noah has spoken about how excited he is to be back at Utah and about how much he believes he has grown as a tight end, which is the part the Utes care about most. The sibling storyline is the easy hook, but the real interest is whether that growth translates into a bigger role in a room that could use it. [Read more 🡒]
Utah Football Just Crossed A New Line In The Revenue Era
Utah athletics has lined up another sign of how quickly college sports is changing, announcing a multiyear partnership with ALKEME Insurance that will put the companys name on the rear bumpers of Utah football helmets beginning in the 2026 season. The deal also reaches beyond the football program, extending to other Utah teams that use helmets and giving the school another example of how revenue opportunities are being woven directly into the look and structure of its athletics department.
The partnership is part of the NCAAs new rules allowing additional commercial logos on uniforms and equipment, but Utahs agreement goes a step further with a business-school tie-in. Through collaboration with the University of Utahs David Eccles School of Business, the arrangement also includes student internships and scholarships, adding an academic piece to a sponsorship that shows how far the revenue era has already reached in Salt Lake City.
