Fifteen Utes Impress Scouts at Pro Day With Key Talent Missing

Former Utah football stars seize the spotlight at Pro Day, showcasing their skills for NFL scouts and gearing up for their next big opportunities.

Fifteen former Utah football standouts took center stage at the school's annual Pro Day, showcasing their skills for NFL scouts from 31 of the 32 teams. This was a pivotal moment for these athletes as they made their final on-campus impression before the upcoming NFL Draft.

Linebacker Lander Barton seized the opportunity to display his athletic prowess, having skipped the combine tests last month. "I wasn't at 100% for the combine," Barton shared.

"I wanted to be at my best, and being here, where I've trained daily for four years, felt right. It paid off."

Tight end Dallen Bentley, who had already impressed at the Combine, saw Pro Day as another chance to shine. "After months of training, it all leads to this.

It's nerve-racking, but ultimately, it's just football. Your film speaks for itself, so you come out, execute what you've prepared for, and enjoy it," Bentley explained.

He felt confident about his performance, particularly his sprint.

The dynamic tackle duo, Logan Fano and Caleb Lomu, took a more reserved approach during the Pro Day but are eagerly anticipating the next chapter of their football careers. Lomu reflected on their journey, saying, "Spencer and I were recruited together, started as freshmen, and have been learning from each other ever since. It's incredible to be in this position together."

Fano, addressing concerns about his arm length affecting his draft stock, participated in snapping drills alongside Jaren Kump, showcasing his versatility. "I feel my best at tackle, but I'm ready to play anywhere-even run routes if needed," Fano joked.

This Pro Day was more than just drills and times; it was a celebration of hard work, camaraderie, and the dreams of these athletes as they take their next steps toward the NFL.
